running transducer cable 2024 232 Gulfstream

Following this as I am in the same boat (pun) with a Grady 282.

What have you done to your Grady lately?

Awesome thank you for the detailed response. I just purchased a 282 and it came with a 2017 Loadrite with surge breaks. I want to switch it to EOH because like you I live on the west coast and I am up and down big hills/mountains, not to mention trying to back up a slight incline always seems to...

What have you done to your Grady lately?

How hard was the EOH conversion? I am thinking of doing the same thing with my Loadrite, I watched a video by Hydrastar and it seems pretty straight forward but of course they are selling the systems so I doubt the would point out the downside.

    Evinrude G2 motors...need opinions

Hey Half. I was in the market and came close to pulling the trigger on a Grady 282 with 2 newer G2 225s on the back with very low hours. The upside from my research is that they are great motors with low smoke, lots of power and fuel efficient. The only thing that prevented me from buying it was...

    Boat Hauling Company

Well it looks like I will pull the trigger on a 04 Grady 282 (just waiting for some repairs to be made after survey). The boat is on a solid trailer and is ready to roll so looking to have it towed to the west coast (Blaine Washington). As some of you may know I had a nightmare with Shiply on my...

    Transom Leaking

That jelly like substance is called ester and it from the moisture in the transom mixing with the metal/greenwood and causing a chemical reaction. It also emits a gas which will cause some pitting and perforations in the transom cap which is very common with these boats as it is emitted out the top.

    Hairline cracks

In the last picture your transom plate seems cracked or welded in the middle. Was there a repair made there?

    Hairline cracks

This is what you may find. In which case a transom rebuild is most likely on the agenda at some point.

    Hairline cracks

This looks like a Grady 272? Can you check the stringers in the transom where they connect? That would be a good indicator as well.

    Shiply Is Horrible

I am guessing it has to do with what others have posted here. Two of the Gradys I surveyed clearly had hurricane damage that was patched up but the level of moisture was unreal. As well what I am seeing is the transom plate on Florida boats seem a lot more corroded than boats further north, I am...

    Shiply Is Horrible

This is really great information. I sincerely appreciate all the time and detail you put into your response. If this boat works out that I am looking at in Mass I am going to fly out and trailer it back. Currently have a survey being done on the boat on April 24 so will know pretty quick. Thanks...

    Shiply Is Horrible

I am contemplating that on my next purchase, looking at a Grady out of the NE since all the Florida boats I look at are soaked in the transom. Did you drive from the west to the east and back or did you fly out and rent a truck for the drive home? What you are proposing makes a lot of sense...
