The 18"prop works for me. I am looking for cruising speed/economy. I love this motor, but it is hard to prop. I gave it a start/run yesterday. Fired right up after sitting since 1st of Feb. So quiet.

The 300 Suzuki is a great choice for a single. I have 100 hours on mine and it is great.

I have '95 Gulfstream that I repowered with the 300 Suzuki last year. Without going to twins this is a perfect repower for this boat.

I settled on 16 x 18 prop. It will not fully tach out to 6100 but I like the power range. I'm not into speed, only on my whaler. I cruise around 3850/4000 rpms, depending on conditions. And did I mention NO OIL !!!!

The 23 is a great all round boat.I have a 300 Suzuki on mine. It is easy to handle. I also fish on a 27'. Mine fishes much better. The 27' has more room below. If you plan overnights the 27' would be better. Other than more room below I would go with the 23'.
