Is the inter tank bulkhead structural 1994 Grady White 228

My marlin has a bulkhead between the tanks I had to cut in order to pull the tanks. I contacted Grady beforehand and they suggested I put blocking in and just screw the bulkhead back in. I ended up glassing it in. It was easy enough.

Oldest 232 Gulfstream owner with original fuel tanks ?

I’m replacing the tanks on my 05 marlin. Had a few holes in the top of the main tank. Aux looked ok but I decided to do both anyway. Keep in mind new tanks are about $15/per gallon give or take.

27 year old fuel tank is out! New tank design mod…

I’m in the process of installing new tanks myself. My plan is to use 5200 to adhere strips of hdpe plastic to the bottom and anywhere else wood will touch the tank. I’m going to use enough 5200 to seal it 100% from any moisture to get under to prevent corrosion.

    Repairing deck hatches

While we are on the topic of fiberglassing, how would you guys attack this bulkhead? The frontside feels solid as well as 90% of the back. The top part where the fuel filters and Yamaha flow sensors are screwed into has become soft.

    Repairing deck hatches

I’m repairing the deck hatch over the fuel tanks and the smaller one over the aft bilge. Mine were spongy and when I pulled them up to replace the fuel tanks I saw the bottom separated and the wood was saturated. They came apart very very easy. So now I’m gathering info and materials so I can...

    Repairing deck hatches

Thanks. I was planning on just using lightweight mat as my first layer then after I removed the old wood core I realized how thin the hatch really was. I figured a layer of 1708 or something similar would help thicken and stiffen the hatch up before I epoxied the core down?

    Repairing deck hatches

Good morning everyone. I’ve been reading countless posts about repairing these deck hatches. Ive got both hatches on my marlin cleaned up and ready for fiberglass. I have some questions about what layers and when. I plan on using epoxy resin and I have divinycell for the core. Being that I’m...

Wtb twin Yamaha f250s or 300s

Figured I would try reaching out on here. I’m looking for a twin set of Yamaha f250s or f300s. If anyone is looking to repower I may be interested depending on the years and hours. East coast is a plus. Thanks

Surveyor recommendations, Eastern Long Island New York

I used John A Mecionis from sound shore marine on both of my Grady’s. Very knowledgeable. He brought things to my attention and I was able to negotiate a lower price both times to cover repairs. Worth every penny
