Using tabs down does make a big difference in rough water, especially heading into it. But pushing 28 kts into close 3-4 ft seas is a lot to ask of any 23' boat, even a heavy one. There's a limit to what hull size can handle. You might just be at the point where you need to step up in size.

I’ve been thinking about this as well. Let me know what the final cost comes out to. I have 2012 Yamaha 300s, so I’d need the electronic actuators too. I’m curious whether the Dometic Optimus system would be a more affordable option while offering similar performance.
