if the hose is not alcohol rated it can be deteriorating from the inside out...I did the ones in my 1990 back in 2011 and they were in bad shape...you may be due...

some of these boats have sea cocks in difficult places to reach so laziness and complacency tend to have them left open....I never leave mine open...and I installed a large hatch in the deck an d relocated my 1 seacock so I can actually put my hand on it...other day I was checking my washdown...

One thing to keep in mind is that termites need moisture and high humidity..the best thing you can do is get lots of air inside the hull of the boat to dry up the moisture...repeatedly washing the inside with a hose will keep the interior of the hull wet and damp.

If I am slow trolling for bass, I only run 1 engine. When I am drift fishing for flounder, I usually only run 1 engine when running back up current to take another drift or when I am drifting over a wreck for fluke, I run 1 engine to keep over the wreck or back and forth...I do try to switch off...

How often do you use the head? Installing a head with a water supply and holding tank will be a major ordeal..I have used my boat 3 full seasons and I have not used the portapottie 1 time...the 5 gallon bucket gets used instead..much easier to clean..what type of rocket launchers are you talking...

Both of the boats are in and have been for a few weeks...there are not many boats in the water in town this year..sad sign of the times and the storm.....but we are ready.. Season 23 for the Gulfstream has been started.... Season 39 for the Mako is under way...
