    Towing 30'+ & CDL, Non-Commerce

In California some people get a “non commercial” class A license, and its a very low percentage. Half the time the DMV has no clue what your are asking. Never had an issue towing our 20k travel trailer or the 282 sailfish (when we had it). I’m debating a 30’ Marlin with a 10’-7” beam towing vs...

    Hull / Gelcoat Damage?

Do you like being an ass or does it come natural?

    30’ Marlin height.

Thanks everyone. I’ll be heading to FL next week for the house inspection and I’ll get some some tide info at the time. Was really excited for a Marlin, but it might not work out in this scenario if I decide to move it to FL later on.

    30’ Marlin height.

My parents just boat a 2nd home in Cape Coral and the bridge is 9’ clear but cant tell you if that is high tide or not as I’m not familiar with the area. I wanted the marlin for Southern California then later move it to their place and use it there.

    30’ Marlin height.

I currently do not have one, but looking. Had a sailfish before. I picked an 03’ year for the info I posted.

    30’ Marlin height.

From the GW manual. GW doesn’t state where measurements are taken. In any case the bridge seems to low at 8’-9” clear for a Marlin. Sorry for the sideways pic.

    30’ Marlin height.

Is that in the water? The manual states 10’ but seems tall and with a draft of 19”. Looking at 8’-5” with hard top. Idk.

    30’ Marlin height.

Ok. I’ll check that in the meantime. Thx.

    30’ Marlin height.

Can anyone share the height of a 30’ Marlin when in the water? Have been looking for one to use on the west coast. My parents are looking at houses in FL so might move the boat down there later on but there is a bridge to clear at 8.75? I’m thinking it’s to short. Is a Marlin taller the...

    Keel rash- thoughts?

Yes, you would have to blend the gel tape line somewhere on the hull. Gel work is a craft.

    Keel rash- thoughts?

This is common for us west coast guys who lake boat. If it’s just gel then we would pay 700-1100 to have this repaired by a shop. That’s usually painting up towards the stakes to blend it.

    WTB: mid 2000’s Marlin

I’ve seen the ones listed on BT and have sent messages to a couple and the responses are brief. Would like to have: ac/generator/bow thruster, as the hard options.

    WTB: mid 2000’s Marlin

$100k +/- Would prefer 250 yammi’s minimum. My father had 200 hdpi’s on his 282 sailfish and with the Marlin being bigger thinking 250 are needed.
