My gas gauge never has been dependable, so I always calculate when fuel is needed by the knots driven. With my Seafarer 228 with Yamaha 250 4 stroke it is consistently 2.5kn/gal. and have a 92 gal tank. We usually travel at 4000 RPM and put on 350-400 hours in a 7 month fishing period.
