    Trailer winch size?

Agreed on all fronts. I float the boat a good bit though so not a lot of friction and honestly haven't broken my winch....just getting ugly and a lil rusty. It's a cheapo Amazon 2 spd though and I'm leaning towards the Fulton 2spd which is significantly more expensive. I've found a 2000# and...

    Trailer winch size?

I have a 263 Chase with a single 350 Verado. I'm guessing the boat is 7000-7500 lbs fully loaded. I need to replace my winch and the one on the trailer (not originally for this boat) was 2500#. The local trailer shop (highly regarded) said you only need 10% or so bc you certainly can't pull this...

    Adding raw water washdown

Actually just discovered ones exist with a built-in fuse. Super simple!! (I won't post url bc I don't know if it's forbidden since Amazon isn't a sponsor) Gebildet 12V Fuse Relay Switch Harness Set - 30A ATO/ATC Blade Fuse, 4-Pin SPST Automotive Electrical Relays with Heavy Duty 12 AWG Wires...

    Adding raw water washdown

Damn. I hadn't actually taken that into consideration. Playing with a calculator and it seems 10g is recommended. Seems large, but better safe than sorry. I installed the pump in the bilge area and it's literally 1' from my batteries. Thinking I'll just get a relay now to mount with the pump. I...

    Adding raw water washdown

Boat was not pre-wired. I ran 14g as that is the wire size for the pump's harness. It is a 5.5GPM pump. I'll check the ACC and see if I can find a rating. Thanks

    Adding raw water washdown

Chase 263. I added a seacock, pump, outlet, and ran the wiring; the only thing I have left is actually hooking up the wiring. It's 14g, pump pulls 18a, and the documentation mentioned a fuse of 25a. I have a few open ACC spots on my switch panel, but can they handle this kind of load? They have...

    Repowering a 2004 273 Chase

Old pic, but I have the full-length. Maybe it's a late 99, but title says 99.....

    FS Oem Rod Holders

I'm one of the "OEM guys". I'm interested, but want them to add to the bow of my Chase 263. The only thing I'm concerned about is the angle....not sure they'll fit. Are these from rear of the boat and fairly "straight"?

    Repowering a 2004 273 Chase

I have a 1999 Chase 263 (same exact hull as your 273...same 500hp rating). My boat came from the factory with a single 250 (2-stroke). I recently repowered with a Verado 350 and have only taken it out once....it's actually going back to the shop tomorrow to have the motor raised 2 holes. On that...

    Simrad not showing depth?!

I can see everything on the NMEA network (which outside of the two Go7 is my VHF and VesselView). Not much to garner from the VHF, but I can watch my Verado gauges on either Simrad. I can use the chart on either, but only one has a chip, so I was defaulting to that one. I did not see other...

How much can I move my engine up?

You're correct in those pics I was barely on plane, but used those as it was easier to see the spray. I took a video at WOT and just did a quick screen grab. I read the Verados have a larger set back over other engines (I don't have any measurements or pics from prior OX66 to compare) and that...

How much can I move my engine up?

I also plan on buying transom saver bars for the mounting holes. Not sure if it makes a difference, but figured if I'm risking any additional strain, I may as well try to distribute the weight as much as possible. Thanks for everyone's input

How much can I move my engine up?

The main issue is I'm looking for the "best solution" as I need as close to a "one n done" as possible. I don't have a lift, cherry-picker, etc, so will be paying the engine installer to modify this. I was thinking 2 holes as well, but that will put the engine "base" sticking up above the top of...

How much can I move my engine up?

Just repowered my Chase 263 with a Verado 350 and took it out for the first time Sat. The spray from the motor is excessive, "unnatural", and fills the splashwell. I believe the engine is mounted too low. Here are some pics I just took of it sitting on my trailer. Sadly I was solo and couldn't...

    Simrad not showing depth?!

I can long press the depth and it allows you to select the source, but only displays the two Simrad units. I've tried both....no luck. I just bought the Ethernet cable and hooked it up. No change. I'll keep researching.
