Thanks I definitely will do some cleanup. Should I try a bronze thread to screw in first to make sure threads are clean first or am I thinking overkill.

Got that sucker out;) Everyone is right it is a PIA. Trying to get the old livewell pump off without breaking it off. Tomorrows project. Maybe I'm just getting old but pretty sure my wallet would have hurt less than I do today.

Ky what's that about half way up on the livewell hose? Some type of filter? if so what kind and main purpose? Ok also I got the lid off. Its 228 seafarer Its below the well that sits between the two stern seats. Only access is to pull the livewell to get down into the bilge area. KYGrady has a really good picture on here somewhere but I can't find it right now.

The lid is my PIA. I can't hold the nut underneath the lid and close it enough to get to the philips head on top. Need to replace the live well pump. Any tips on removing the lid in order to get the well out? Can't hold the nuts and unscrew the top Philips head at he same time. Any advise on this project is appreciated.

Ok so it goes underneath to be screwed into? Do you have any pics of it installed? How did you hold it up underneath to line the screws up? I know all of this sounds dumb but I'm just trying to picture this in my pea brain.
