    265 express newbie

What year is your boat and where are you running it? The general rule is to trim the engines up until they start to cavitate and just drop them down a small amount. Use only small amounts of trim tabs.

minimum hp for GW 19' tournament

Torey, I think the 115 is marginal but will work ok for general cruising and fishing (assuming you aren't planning on pulling heavy skiers, loading the boat too heavily, etc.). I have the 130 on my 2002 19 Tournament and it works just fine (almost 10 years and more than 600 hours largely...

255 Freedom vs Pursuit DC 265

Tashmoo, Nice review! BTW, the 255 does offer the option of twins as compared to the 225, although I suspect most users won't really the dual engines. I agree with your comments that the pricing is too much for what is there for both boats when you compare the alternatives.

255 Freedom vs Pursuit DC 265

The Pursuit also has in-deck rod storage, a transom fishbox, and a little bit more deadrise.

    Long Trailer Mfg

I was told Long Trailer is out of business by a dealer that sourced trailers from them and had to find another source. Here's hoping they find a way to start back up as they made nice, beefy trailers (I have one).

    Experience with new Fisherman 230

I know of at least one that was sold and I assume there were at least a couple of more, but I haven't seen any feedback on them. It is interesting that Grady upped the transom deadrise and I was hoping to see whether the ride was improved. I considered the boat briefly but ....

Sailfish in tight 3 to 5 foot seas

The Sailfish is a great boat and is bluewater-worthy, but there are certainly 28' cabin boats that ride better, including particularly the Carolina Classic and Albemarle. Those boats will rock a lot more on the drift or at anchor and consume a lot of fuel, but they have great rides. If there...

    water where it shouldn't be

That is scary. It is dangerous to put your tackle in one place where your wife can see it. Better that it not be clear how much might be there. :hmm

    290 Chesapeake

Re: Discontinuing the Marlin will either sell more Chesapeakes or more Pursuits. I am not sure I would want to bet on which. I find it strange that they would discontinue two models (Sailfish and Marlin) that have been so popular.

    Tournament 192 / Tournament Series

I bought my 192 for similar reasons as yours - I wanted a boat that would do a mix of everything. I find my 192 to be a great all-round compromise as it gives me more space than a cc where I use it (in the cockpit) and the protection of a cabin boat. I use it more than 95% of the time for...

How many Grady owners carry a Sea Anchor

I carry a drift sock. I figure I can add a 5 gallon bucket if necessary. The larger cabin boats have more windage and thus may need a larger drift sock or sea anchor.

    new to forum, a question

Check with your local Grady dealer. They can tell you the trailer they usually use for that boat. I imagine you will want a trailer rated for 7-7,500 lbs or so as your all-in weight may be more (e.g., the hull weight may not include accessories, you will have water in the water tank, etc.)...

    Which Boat stands??

Down here, they use boat stands, concrete blocks and 4x4s or 2x4s, or cradles. I wonder if you could build a cradle out of 4x4s. Something like this: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt ... CDAQ9QEwBg . Given your relatively longer period the boat is out of water, it is probably worth...
