So Grady White have just let me know that all the negative/ground wires should be going though the black wire so labelled. This is not the case - someone somewhere has created a link between the engine earths and the 'house' earth. AAAAAUUUUGGGGGHHH

Thanks for all your responses - I have read and digested them. I have since done some more checking. ALL my house systems work even if I disconnect the "house" negative from the battery. The negatives are finding their way back to the engine cabling since that is the only cabling still...

Hi Hookup1. I have done this. My drawings show only the positive sides - not the ground. The ground is just shown as a ground symbol - where the wires actually run or connect is anyones guess!

Grady White Marlin 2006. I have disconnected all the ground wires (but not the engine earth) from the battery, but my bilge pump still operates in automatic mode. This suggests that the bilge pump is grounded to the motor somehow? Can anyone shed light on this interesting quirk?

Hi All I have a 2005 Marlin 300 with a strange no brand fuel pump on the diesel generator. Does anyone recognise what this is? It is heavily corroded and needs replacement ASAP.

it appears that the transom on my Marlin 300 has swollen significantly. When I removed the aluminium top strip, water oozed out of the transom at the top - you can see the moisture in one of the starboard photos below. Anybody got any ideas what the issue might be and what I should do about...
