I wonder why your trim tabs like mine will only work when the motors are running? Are they wired directly from the alternator and not from the batteries? It sounds like some boats have tabs that will work when the motors are off. Anyone have an answer for this?

When you say you are on the Island, are you meaning Friendship Long Island, or Garrison maybe. Either way, it's a beautiful part of the world. I'm usually here from May through October. Maybe we can get together sometime next summer.

Hi DenisG01, I'm new to these forums. I saw that you hail from Friendship ME. I am located in Flood's Cove in Friendship. You don't often see anything from someone that knows where Friendship is. Just thought I would say hello.

My trim tabs don't move unless the motors are running. I thought that was odd. Even if the ignition is switched on, the tabs won't move unless the engine is actually running.
