    running too cold

    Sounds like a stuck thermostat(s). I had the same problem on one of my Suzukis. It was running cold and I found some indications of water in the oil. Changed the thermostats and the problem wnt away.

    smell of gas

    I have a '87 Trophy Pro that had the same problem. It turned out to be the filler hose to the main tank. Replaced the hose and the problem was resolved.
