I have mine flush mounted in the electronics box below the hardtop and have never had an issue with the GPS connecting. I did install the marine GPS weather antenna. I cut a 3/4" hole and put a large clam shell over it and caulked the crap out of it. No issues in 3 or 4 years.

I've used a sea sucker on smooth fiberglass and it works great. I don't believe it will hold on the textured areas.

I was talking about my stereo losing it's presets. Who's stereo holds their presets when the battery is shut off?

My radio loses its presets. It has a seperate power lead for the memory. I was thinking of adding a small battery to the electronics box and put a solar panel on the hardtop to keep it charged. Maybe a new radio would be cheaper and easier. All my other electronics keep their settings.

I used the kitchen and bath on my front panel and the UV rays killed the color in one season. On my back panel I used the window and door and it has held up for 2 seasons now. If/when I do the front again I will use the window and door.

I don't remember what size I bought but if I were to do it again I would get galvanized over painted. Plus I would get "sailboat" style for the bow. I agree with 4 stands plus blocking.

I tried it this morning.....thought it was much easier than trying to pour 2 - 1 gallon containers into the boat. We do have gas at the marina but I don't think I will be hassled. Plus it would take a ton of 2 1/2 gallon gas cans to fill 150 gallons.

I would use a new one but like the old vent style better.
