    265 Owners

This is great feedback and is leading me to rethink my choice. My 2003 gulfstream Dry weight is 4,100 pounds (I think new ones weigh 400 more) and the 264 I believe is 5,600 dry weight. The weight alone I thought would be dramatic in performance, but, length may not get me the ride I was...

    Cleaning your Eisenglass curtains

If you have the time.....here is a great combination. Absolutely use Denatured Alcohol and clean out all the build up. Then use a 1,500 RPM buffer (not orbital) with standard car wax to buff out light scratches over the entire area front and back. Keep a light layer of wax or pledge on them...

Is the 232 too big to trail with half ton truck?

Oh.....one more thing. Anyone towing over their trailer capacity involved in an accident usually lands in a heap of trouble if insurance or police investigate. Common sense, but, something to consider when loaded up with fuel and gear that all factors into final weight.

Is the 232 too big to trail with half ton truck?

All good posts with good tips. I trailer my Gulfstream about 2,000 miles per year out of Atlanta (9'3" beam). Typical trip to Destin and Hilton Head is 5-7 hours depending on destination. I bought the new Tundra specifically for this type of haul with 10,400 trailering capacity. Other 1/2...

    Banging noise in Bulkhead

My 2003 Gulfstream has a distinct Bell sounding noise coming from behind the console when hitting hard quartering seas. Could this be a bulkhead displacement or dislodge or something less painful?? It sounds like something is loose but there is virtually nothing in the cabin near that area...

    Keeping fresh water.... fresh

1 cup of bleach per 3 gallons (or more) then drive the boat with the tank about two thirds full so it sloshes around and can hit the top of the tank as well. Back at dock, Drain the tank entirely then refill with fresh. I've heard you should do this annually and I'm sure the 1 cup per 3...

    Multiple, simultaneous electrical problems

I agree with OnoEric's comments. You might also want to check to see if the orginal installer made any splices. Even heat shrink splices can invite corrosion over time. Good luck!

    Barkeeper's friend

Huskerboater, I tend to disagree with the posts that say it does not remove the finish layer of gelcoat on smooth surfaces. If you want absolute shine.....it will slightly dull the finish with the first usage. I polish my boat twice a year (1,500 Makita) and use Barkeeper only on non-skid...

Kicker Motor--Peace of mind or a hassle?

Viperdrum, let me know what you decided as I am very curious your choice. For my Gulfstream, I did the installation myself and was one of the toughest and time consuming projects I have undertaken in awhile. My first Garelick bent over time and had to upgrade to their most robust unit. I'll...

Automotive Wiper Arms...anyone using them? Thanks!

Does anyone have a correct fitting automotive wiper arm that fits Grady's? I'm guessing this will be an older 70's or 60's type arm. I have a Gulfstream and want to convert to this type of arm/ blade. I'll have to swap them out more often, but, the current blades warp in one direction after...

    Poor Battery Charging

Thanks for all the replies! My mistake on the 2.2 and 2.6.....I meant 12.2 and 12.6. Yes, I'm shutting off battery switch when leaving dock. Single motor always cranks up on one battery even after 1 month or more at dock. It seems there is a problem because if I get 13.4 at low RPM's and...

    Poor Battery Charging

Just switched from size 24 Interstate battery to 27 series Deka Marine and have found degraded recharging. Mid to high throttle only produces 13.0 voltage and 13.4 to 13.6 at idle speeds. Batteries at dock are 2.6 and degrade to 2.2 in 10 days. Running 250HPDI and using only 1 battery bank...
