    Favorite Ethanol Treatment

You can't stop phase separation of ethanol laced gas. Additives might control the corrosion the water will cause, but all ethanol laced fuel will separate given enough time. 12 oz of some magic elixir can't change the physical and chemical makeup 20 gallons of alcohol infused gasoline.

2006 228 Windshield wiper motor question

Just for reference sake, I emailed Grady with the switch operation question and was told that this is by design.

2006 228 Windshield wiper motor question

I recently changed the "park" position on my port windshield wiper to be at the outer most port(as it should be)--it had pointed to starboard when turned off. Now both wipers go 'in', and turned off (park) on the outsides. Why, or how, it got like this I don't know. I'm assuming at some point...

    228 Prop help needed

Last update on the prop: Tested last week with 4 adults and 3/4 tank (main tank) of gas. Aux tank was only showing two bars. 45-46 MPH WOT according to the GPS with hardtop curtains on (front window zipped down in the middle) bouncing between 5900 and 6000 rpm. Water temp 75 degrees, light wind...

Flush mounting electronics on a seafarer

Thanks Stroke Zone. I looked at mine this weekend and those top screws must have been pretty long. Did you go through the plastic roof of the electronics area? Also, did you screw into the near horizontal portion of the bottom? Just trying to figure this out before I start... Thanks!

    228 Prop help needed

SmokyMtnGrady- Thanks for the follow up. Lots of visitors to CHS for the next few months! Definitely a great place to be this time of year. Not sure if you saw my post above--looks like the Yamaha SWS II SDS 15 1/4 x 18 is the trick, at least for me and my setup. Haven't got to test it any...

Flush mounting electronics on a seafarer

Strikezone--I REALLY like that idea. How did you attach the backing board to the electronics "hole"? I don't see any obvious screws on the rim of the electronics entrance? Thanks!

    New lettering, stripe, 07 Marlin

That looks really good! I recently did the same to my '06 228. I did it late last year, and got the "new" Grady stripes from Grady that are blue fading to green to update the look. My F250 cowling was in decent shape, but the Yamaha decals were starting to wear. With some patience and a light...

Re: Needed to vent about a Grady White dealership experience I bought my Grady from Tom last year (drove 5 hours to get there!). I've never had a better experience buying a boat, and I have bought new and used over the years from most of the major manufacturers (Sea Hunt, Key West, Boston...

    228 Prop help needed

Bringing this to the top... Just bought a 14.25x 18" Salt Water Series II SDS prop for my 228. From the very small amount of testing I have done (literally less than 3 miles) I gained about 2-3 MPH on top end, still saw about 5900-6K RPM at WOT (by myself, 1/2 of both tanks of fuel) and lost...

    Stereo, speakers in a 228

Just wondering where the best (maybe the only) places to mount their stereo and speakers in a 228? Any pics? I'd like to put 4 speakers in it.

Any newer Grady with an engine bracket (225,228, 232 etc)

Re: Any newer Grady with an engine bracket (225,228, 232 etc That cap is exactly what I am looking for--if it wasn't an end cap.If it had the end piece cut out and then shaped appropriately that would work. I seem to remember seeing a gap there last summer...but really noticed it a few weeks...

Any newer Grady with an engine bracket (225,228, 232 etc)

Does your rub rail have any type of cover where the two ends meet? My 228's rub rail in the cold seems to have shrunk, and there is about an inch gap between the two inner rubber pieces. I'm thinking a polished stainless cover would look nice and to make the rub rail ends look "finished"...

    228 Prop help needed

We do a lot of going to boat only accessible islands--most of those islands are accessed on smooth water ICW. Its anywhere from 15 to 20 miles via the ICW to get to and back from them.
