I called Grady White and they told me to use a transom mounter transducer, so that's what I did. The transom mounted transducer is not great at high speed and I constantly lose the bottom when I fish deeper than 600 feet but I didn't want to go against the factory recommendation.

Did you buy the boat? Does the thru hull transducer mounted in the cabin bilge area work while the boat is running? I just got a 33 Express with a transom transducer and I want to replace it with a thru hull. The electrician is recommending installing in the cabin bilge outside the raw water...
