Ok, found the correct Southco replacement part. Here's a link and below is what's in the package. I'm leaving out that plastic lift tab since it's not needed for the hatch. https://www.boatoutfitters.com/southco-push-button-latch-with-perpendicular-catch
Wondering if anyone knows where I could buy two new lockable cabin hatch locks? I found a thread for similar locks, but they are for cabinets. See attached and thanks in advance.
FYI, I did this based off what GW told me. Basically, in 2001 they moved the scuppers up 1.5" on all hulls to accommodate the heavier 4 strokes outboards,
so I did as well on my boat...
No, the deck wouldn't necessarily have water coming out of the drains, but the actual scuppers would have been submerged. While that isn't a huge issue, should there be a problem with a scupper or hose/clamp you could have a sunk boat...
I agree with all the other comments above; don't go above the 400hp rating GW is giving for that model. I just bought a '95 Islander last year and am in process of moving the scuppers up due to the additional weight of dropping two new Yamaha 200 four strokes on (487lbs each).
Ok, thanks for the input. To clarify, I fish the Hudson in the spring for stripers which is when a slow troll works best. Then I haul the boat up to Lake Ontario for steelhead and salmon.
Just wondering if anyone has experience reaching a slow trolling speed of 2-3mph with twin Yamaha F200XB four strokes? I'm repowering an Islander 268 this winter. (Obviously I will run one motor at a time, alternating motors to keep hours equal.) Will I need a trolling bag to slow down the boat...
