Need info for a new trolling motor

I’m Joe Jr. The part that has the Panther sticker, is that part of the Panther bracket or does that come with the motor. My used boat came with a bracket that looks like yours minus that intermediate piece. If it’s Panther I will reach out to them. Also can you comment: Are you tapped into...

    New to me Adventure 208

The problem with the Adv. 208 is it thinks it’s a much bigger boat! It will want to go further and deeper, you’ll love it! How about details on the camper rig?

    Adventure208 Deck Hatch Mod

I have an access point to the fresh water tank, which was sealed when I got it. After 9 years the curiosity got to me so I unscrewed and pealed it out. The compartment showed no sign of intrusion, so I reinstalled as was. I am not sure an opening in the back wall would give me the access I am...

    Adventure208 Deck Hatch Mod

Thanks Skunkboat! That is exactly the concept. When I uncover the boat, I’m going to check the coring in the motor well. Besides the wash that comes in, the area is small and well drained. It’s also fairly vented from battery storage and oil storage which is on each side.

1993 208 Adventure Hardtop Kicker Addition

This is interesting. Is this because of the direction of the prop? Do you think it’s worth switching current swim platform to starboard so kicker can have the port side? I want to have platform for safety reasons. Thanks

    Adventure208 Deck Hatch Mod

I need better access to the bilge to replace bilge pump, and replace and rewire trim tab motor and check water pump for live well. The two round inspection hatches do not allow me to reach the pumps at all. Has anyone ever replaced the two hatches with one large rectangular inspection hatch in...

Should I drop insurance in the winter?

Was your motor subject to the corrosion recall a few years ago? If that doesn’t apply than I agree with everything others are saying, that is a no.

How To Remove Gas End of Season

You bring up a great point. They highlight it should only be powered through the automotive connection at the helm or in the case of a car, the front seat. No connection directly to battery at all, no alligator clips. I took an extra step of making an additional ground wire for the hoses. With...

How To Remove Gas End of Season

Every season I try to have the least amount of fuel going into storage, but this year, as other years, I had somewhere between 25 and 30 gal on board. I have used the jiggly thing, air compressor, mouth to hose and hand pump. Last year I tried to rig an auto pump, but I was sold the wrong pump...

    Trim Tab Rebuild

Has anyone rebuilt a hydraulic actuator from Bennett? The fellow from Bennett was helpful on the phone, but he basically told me to go out and buy a new one. I am not trying to be cheap, but I would hate to find out I just needed to buy a $6 "O" ring. Any guidance or sourcing info is very...

Looking To Move To Cape Cod

Hello All, Our offer for West Yarmouth was accepted today, so Englewood boat ramp will be home base unless something goes sideways on the home inspection. We are tentatively scheduled for end of Feb. closing. Thank you again for all the input from all you Captains on this “Great Grady” website.

    1990 2o ft Overnighter

Not sure what motor you have, but with my 99 OX66, the cooling stream will be low pressure at idle and will become very powerful when RPMs increase. I did not know this at the time. My motors cooling stream was always low pressure regardless of RPMs and I was told that its just the way some...

Looking To Move To Cape Cod

Update to Cape Cod search after 3 rd visit. Today we are making an offer on a 2 bedroom located in West Yarmouth at Lewis Bay, a few streets up from Edgewood Beach. Any issues about the ramp there? We looked hard in the upper Cape, Falmouth, Pocasett, & Cataumet, but very little to choose...

Looking To Move To Cape Cod

Hey Koby, thanks for the great write up. I have an Adventure 208, if I launch out of the public ramp at Bass River, would I be limited on rough days? Another's opinion was that I would be and on any day its too far to the Vineyard and other areas to the east. You speak highly of Bass River. Are...
