I also have a 2006 283 Release. I love the boat but there is no trim and tab setting that will make it dry, especially downsea. Slowing down will help where in my Seacraft and Mako speeding up helped. I think it is the nature of the hull, everything is a tradeoff. I have run the boat many hours...

I have a shoot trough 1 KW on my 283. It works great but will lose the bottom if I reverse significantly (my through-hull never did this).

There are pictures here or on THT that show a capsized Grady. The boat turtled and a portion of the underside of the bow remained above water. The seas are calm and I'm sure in rougher weather the whole thing could be awash and offwer little to stay with. I think this is what is meant with...
