All good advice here. Scrap the metal tubes. Epoxy coat the inside of the holes, once cured instal the nylons tubes.

I always failed art class lol. Wow ok that's interesting tho. On my 2001 sailfish the box stops at the lip before the drains. I am too surprised why Grady would do this. Regardless at least you were able to investigate and learn a little bit more about what's going on under that area. Now it...

Valise coastal liferaft storage 2000 sailfish 272

My valise is under my feet at the helm....I haven't found a good place for it on the 282. Fortunately I'm not that tall of a guy so it doesn't bother me any while underway

I'm just spitballing here but The thing is, if you're forward bilge is filling up with enough water to reach the corners or the seams of that box. That means that the drains that lead from the forward bilge to the aft bilge are clogged. That forward bilge should never reach a water level high...

Here's a quick sketch. Just let me know if you understand what I'm trying to say. It's just a rough sketch.

It's highly unlikely those drains lead directly into that box, at least not directly. Those drains on the floor are forward the box and much lower of a grade than the box itself. The only thing I can think of is that your forward bilge is filling up with so much water that it's seeping into the...

Regarding that box, you could always just drill a quarter inch hole in each corner and play it safe and then it would drain safely until the bilge.

Sorry just reading up on this. Correct. The gray water goes to a small box under the hatch at the bottom of the stairs where it is then pumped out. The small box inside the hatch at the bottom of the stairs has a float switch type pump. keep in mind I would take it out once in a while and flush...

I'll take some pics of my boat later today so he is able to compare and also to give you guys a better idea of what he's referring to.

Those two drain holes you see are on the floor are just forward that box and do not have anything to do with the box. I know it's hard to tell from his picture, but those holes drain directly to the forward bilge, which is just below it. That box sits higher up and is in the mid Berth. The two...

The hull is below that "floating box". The AC unit would sit in that box and there's a few inches of empty space underneath before you get to the hull. If you look aft of that box, there's an oval access panel in the berth.... Open it up, you have your freshwater pump, hydraulic pump, shit tank...

Yes, this was designed by Grady. It drains back into the aft bildge if and when necessary IE forward bilge pump does not work. That area you're referring to I believe will contain an air conditioning condenser , factory option ,under that floor. Water will travel from the forward bilge to the...

    282 sailfish deck hoses.

I'm late to the party but yep I did this last year and I had to cut a hole in the location posted above. Honestly was the hardest job on this boat thus far. Most off the work being done by feel. Insane. I wanted to replace the actual thru Hulls as well, but gave up on trying to find a way to...
