GW Sailfish 272- Where to mount 5hp Honda

GW Sailfish 272, where to mount 5hp Honda? For the inflatable tender... I'm sure someone has this figured out. Yesterday at the marina I saw a Luhrs with the little Merc he uses for his inflatable mounted on the stern rail. Looks like he took a couple pieces of Trex decking, used a round router...

Framing for 272 Sailfish winter cover....??

Well, it's that time of year again... :( This is our first year of ownership of our '99 Sailfish and I need to frame up a structure for support of the tarp. In years past, I would use strapping wood (1"X3") to make a long continuous "ridge board" front to rear and support it with verticals...

    purchasing. used gw marlin

Find a reputable surveyor. Do not even think of buying a boat without having a professional survey. It will be the best money you ever spend. Cost a few hundred bucks, but can save you a LOT of heartache. Best wishes, Mike

    Seized screws

Use a good penetrant, then use it again and again . Don't know what your timetable is, but if you spray these several times over a period of a week or two, your chances of an uneventful removal are much better. Impact drivers, using a really good (Snap-On) screwdriver with a wrench on the hex by...

Removing switch/gauge panels - what the hell...

Use a good penetrant now (PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench, Zep45, etc.) and again in a few days. Then use a punch and hammer to jar things somewhat. Then spray again. Couple days later try again. Wet the tip of the Phillips and dip in Comet or Ajax to keep it from slipping. Good luck. If they break...

2001 30' Marlin Auxiliary Battery Problems

Sounds to me like you need to have the batteries load-tested. At 13.2V, they are fully-charged (by the on-board charger) when hooked to shore power. Are you saying they are dying while underway, or dying at anchorage with the engines off? Regards, -Mike
