Looking to get some material for making new cushions for my Grady and would like to be close on color. Who is a good supplier and/or should I keep this local? I noticed shipping for some is kind of crazy $.

    New Grady Paint Color

Could be that she just wants a new boat and color is the common ground for the request.

Newer and older gimbal rod holder compatibility?

After searching for a while and seeing quite a few 209's with some being quite overpriced, I finally found a 2012 209 that worked out and I bought back into the Grady White fam bam last week. However, the rod holders have some funky chemical burn marks on them. Not rust, but either a chrome...

Newer and older gimbal rod holder compatibility?

I'm the same way with drilling. I also am considering a screwless versions of Gemlux. CE Smith also makes a version of this. Just a backing plate and giant nut to secure it to the mounting hole No screws.

Newer and older gimbal rod holder compatibility?

Thanks. This is what I was looking for. Now, the new holes you drilled, was that just for one or did the hole pattern from the new ones align with the old ones? Also, appears you did not have any fade to deal with, or did you?

Newer and older gimbal rod holder compatibility?

After seeing those Burnewiin style holders, I’m rethinking this..

    Opinions on this Transom

I’ve looked at a lot of boats for sale in the last 2 years. My moisture meter has been with me for each inspection. Maybe just the boats I saw but most of the Grady’s had elevated moisture in the transoms. However, I also saw this with other brands that used wood int their transoms too. It...

Newer and older gimbal rod holder compatibility?

Wondering if anyone has had success with upgrading the older gimbal rod holders to the newer round style ones? Seems larger so should cover the footprint of the older one and then some. The measurements on the screws is 3.25 OC. The older ones measure just over 3.25. Thoughts?

    Grady White 229 - Adding a Bracket to a 222?

Interesting observation regarding the early years for the 257. I seem to recall the current versions weighing 4300 dry but did not know of those differences immediately following coming out of the 247 badging. The weight came from when they lengthened the bottom on of the hull all the way out to...

    Grady White 229 - Adding a Bracket to a 222?

Yup, aware of the amount of work. I’d take most of it on as a project and outsource what I’m not good at or don’t want to do. In most cases, there would also be a new outboard and fit. 257 is awesome and would love to have one but is not towable for me. A 247 might be. 1k lb difference just for...

    Grady White 229 - Adding a Bracket to a 222?

Basically a center console version of the 228? A 222 bracket wannabe based on the 228. Has anyone ever closed in the transom and added a bracket to a 222 or 226? I know this seems odd but for other brands seems like more than 1/2 of the rebuilds of older hulls are doing this. Other brands (like...

General question on buying a Grady, i am looking on Long Island NY

Odd that he picked on 2004. Anything pre-2016 will likely have wood in some or most of the structure and other components. I have confirmed with Grady White that as of 2016, all models have composite stringers and transoms. Leading up to this some models may have mixed materials and some...

    WTB: 2016 or 2017 Grady White 209

Will pay better than fair price for the right boat. Ideal 209 for me will have a low hour 200 Yamaha and no bottom paint. I'm in the northeast but will travel up to a few hundred miles or more for the right boat. Yes, if you were aware of my search, I've been looking for a while now and passed...

2000 Grady White 208 Adventure for sale $12k - not mine

"....... Doesn't look like it comes with a trailer though......" Trailers are crazy expensive right now. I'd say they are easily double of what they were 5+ years ago.

Joining the list of Grady owners who have to repower or give it away…

A friend of mine just repowered his sailfish this year with twin 200 Suzukis. He had 200 HPDIs and the power difference is substantial. He loves his boat and will keep it forever. If I was in your shoes, I’d look into Suzuki and maybe even the 200s. I love Yamaha but if repowering, Suzuki...
