    1993 GW Seafarer 228 and what to look for.

    Be careful. Notched transoms were notorious for rot. I have a 1988 and it’s on a bracket which prevented a lot of the rot. Be careful. Also check for squishy floors and you’ll probably need a new gas tank. How much is he asking?

    I’ve been restoring my 1988 228. Has taken about three years. New bulkhead and I finally added new cabin doors. I had the old teak shutter doors and I wanted a more contemporary look. In 2 weeks I’m having a custom hardtop added and I should be, almost, maybe done?

    After searching for three years, this is what I’ve learned. Only a hardtop from your years (or recent years to your boat) will fit. Ones from a 24’ boat or others won’t fit without a lot of fabrication and even then, the aluminum piping is probably shot. Don’t want to be discouraging, but I’ve...
