I was able to fit 2 10” Garnin displays in my 2003 282. I tried to fit 12s but you will have to cut fiberglass to get them in. The 10s look and work great.

I have factory air conditioning on my '03 282 and also factory inverter. My inverter and battery are in the box you are describing. Water should not be getting into that box I don't think. There is a drain area that runs from the forward bilge the the aft bilge.

It was difficult. Was I was unsure of is how they measured it. They come in 1/2" increments so i got the 17.5" and the 18". I only wanted to pull the sensor out once so i just got both sizes in case the measurements weren't exact.
