    Help a GW Newbie - De-winterization

Check bilge pumps are working. Put plug in boat and fill up bilge with water until pump comes on. If you have more than one bilge pump pull fuse on lower pump to work second pump.

Aft bilge pump access canyon 306

I’m looking to replace the aft bilge pump and float on a 306 canyon. What’s the best way at it? Access plate in engine well is small and hard to access due to engines. Plus I’d need a lot longer arms. Can I get at the bilge pump via lifting floor panel? Maybe I need to cut in a larger...

    Best Detailing Products

I like presta products for compounding and polishing. My go to for wax is Collinite. Level of oxidation determines starting point. My current boat is dark grey and medium oxidation. I’ll be compounding, then polish and finally waxing. Compounding and polishing done with variable speed makita...

306 canyon - do engines touch water when raised?

New owner of a 2016 306 canyon. The boat will be on a mooring this summer (previously rack stored) and curious if I need to add anti fouling paint to the engine skegs. Boat has twin Yamaha 300s. Forgot to check this out before hauling in the fall. Thank you.

    Magnetic Cushions?

Solas is one of the boat manufacturers who uses magnets to keep cushions in place. Really great idea. They also put magnets embedded in the gunnels that are paired with drink holders. I’d love to learn how to retrofit this into my 2016 Grady.

    Fish box insulation (306 canyon)

Thank you for sharing all the first hand experiences with Grady's ability to hold ice, and for all the suggestions how to improve the insulation. I think I will tray my luck using fish boxes as-is with mix of block and cubed ice. Now i just need to find / catch fish to dirty up the ice. Cheers!

    Fish box insulation (306 canyon)

Hi, I recently purchased a 2016 306 canyon and I’m curious how well the fish boxes hold ice. Im New England based and my fishing trips are 12+ hours. I’m hoping to use the stern box and maybe one of the boxes in the bow. Are they well insulated? Or should I add insulation to my spring...

    306 Canyon bow storage

Thanks for all the ideas, etc. Here's a picture of the panel in question. Cavernous space underneath (unless you have bow thruster). looks like four screws holding it in place.

    306 Canyon bow storage

Great idea. It would put my glass skills to the test! I’ll need to think through it.

    306 Canyon bow storage

Exactly, looking to see if anyone has swapped out the 6" round access plate for something like 10" x 15" deck hatch. It would make for good fender storage (compartment is not finished).

    Coaming Bolster Pad Mod

You got it. 2” holes in backing board for bolster to hang on. On the boat that I trailer I also added snaps at the bottom of coaming pad to prevent bolster from lifting off clips at highway speeds (70 MPH). Snaps are not needed in normal situations.

    Coaming Bolster Pad Mod

The stainless clips work really well. On my boat that i trailer, i also added a small tab with single snap along the bottom to keep the bolsters in place at highway speeds. Two tabs per section does the trick. I can snap picture if needed. Good luck!
