    '88 228:keeping live bait live!

There was a "fish box" in the transom that I removed for better access, as we were having recurrent problems in the bilge. In looking at the wiring diagram for this boat, it does show leads labelled "aerator", which lead me to believe it may have been an option (no "aerator" switch on the...

    '88 228:keeping live bait live!

We've been sputtering around for the last 15 years on this boat and have never done any live-bait fishing.( :huh ) If memory serves, there is an area for live bait storage in one of the molded sections...but I'm not sure if a "livewell" was ever offered as an accessory, or if only the wiring...

Oversize Trailering in NC could cost you BIG BUCK$!

I wonder how many will be able to afford to continue doing it....we run a charter boat out of Morehead, and with all the hassles and $4/gal diesel, we've decided to call it quits..... I've spent the last few months prettying up our '88 Seafarer to just cruise around and fish for...

    New Seafarer

I'm not so sure I'd be quite that aggressive...unless you are fishing with another boat (which I'm sure most do)...Even on the flattest day, if your single engine craps out...eek... Mainly due to the limited range of your VHF due to height. When I first had my Seafarer offshore, I called...

    Replaceing cabin entrance

Just finished doing mine for the same reason...did it a little different Used marine ply (due to the waterproof glue) and sealed it with epoxy...faces and edges. Once dried, used epoxy thicked with cabosil to adhere teak veneers and coated it with Bristol. Turned out right nice :) Rick

    Yes.

Just curious....when did GW change over to plastic trim? I didn't know they had done that, as I've just pulled all the wood trim to clean it up (for the third time :) ) Rick

    STRIPING

Don, I'm replacing mine, and the local Grady dealer (Morehead Marine, NC) has it in stock. You do need to supply the measurements, as there are different sizes. Rick

If you do get a boat and plan on renaming it, be sure to follow the rules lest bad luck plague you: http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/rename.htm :D Rick
