Up here in Connecticut we've got Defender Industries and in the spring they have their "Tent Sale". Lots of great deals, factory reps etc. It could be worth the trip up or order online and get the same deals.

What is the purpose of this poppet valve?

I've polished the headlights on my wife's Expedition and I was amazed how well they came out. I have not had a chance to try it on the doors on the boat.

I haven't tried it yet, but after polishing poly headlights on the cars, I thought that it might work on those doors. 3M has an inexpensive kit available at NAPA. I think I paid around $17. for it.

I'm not sure how it is on the 258 but as I recall, my older Sailfish has the bow cleat tied into the bow eye via threaded rod. Best of luck with this storm. As of right now, the forcast is for the eye to cross us in Connecticut. Fortunately mine is on the trailer at home.

Did you come over and where did you stay?

I believe that there must have been an air pressurization issue while filling the tank and that pushed some fuel out the vent. I'm not sure what is going on with the engine quitting. If it happens again then I might be concerned. It could be just one of those freak things.
