There isn’t a particular mix that is perfect. As a boat ages the gel coat fades so each boat’s gel coat is a slightly different colour. A fibreglassing shop may be able to mix a colour to suit if the have access to the boat.
I’m looking to flush mount a 16” TZT3. I cut out a template and it should just fit. I would love a 19” but I think it would be too big. I prefer one larger than 2 smaller ones. If you had two 8” units together they will be wider than a16” unit. The 16” unit will be higher than the 8” units so...
These dropped straight into my 2006 Seafarer.
It's from an Australian site but gives the measurements, in metric sorry.

I had some anodised aluminium brackets made. No need to weld mounting plates which means removing the fibreglass top and removing the wiring from the tube being welded. Extremely strong.

If you look at the edge of the of the aluminium plate in photo 1 do the cracks extend into the plate?
Looking at the photographs the walk around width looks the same as a 228 meaning you would need to move all the vertical support in a substantial amount the retain the walk around space on a 228. That is a lot of cutting and welding to make it fit. I am thinking a custom made one may be cheaper.
In June last year it was announced that Yamaha would be producing Sharrow Propellors by casting instead of CNC. Was expecting the price to drop significantly. But it hasn’t. Wondering if Yamaha is producing for new boats rigged with Yamaha outboards only.
