Winter cover for Adventure 208 (hard top and pulpit)

I run lines from the rocket launchers in the back to the cleats and from the frame of the hardtop to the cleats in the front. I still get some pooling of rain. When it does snow, I also use a rake to cut down the amount that piles up. I plan on adding a PVC frame to help make it shed water...

    Removing Thru Hulls for resealing

That is what I will try. How much force did you have to apply to break it free initially? What did you rebed with?

    Removing Thru Hulls for resealing

It is not leaking and as I said it is chrome plated bronze. I can see where there is a less than 1 mm gap to the hull. My guess is what ever sealnt was used becase hard and shrank.

    Removing Thru Hulls for resealing

I have wrenches but no room to swing them. a deep socket might allow me to use a ratchet - but I di find a post where someone used a socket and ground teh notches to grab the inside of the fitting - I think I will try that.

    Removing Thru Hulls for resealing

I need to reseal one or more of the thru hulls on my Adventure 208. One of them has a slight gap to the hull and I am getting some water coming in. In this case it is the fish locker on the starboard side. I can get the hose off, but can't budge the backing nut. I can attack it one of 2 ways...

    Lower unit stuck

How about some heat and then melt paraffin against the shaft - works in similar automotive applications.

    Trailer Rebuild

I have fairly recent brakes in good shape. As I replied to another member, a new trailer would probably cost me triple what I will spend. If I could get one for $4500 I would.

    Trailer Rebuild

When I checked prices at the start of summer, it was going to be close to $8K. I can probably do the work in 4 hours or less including bleeding the brakes, and I enjoy it.

    Trailer Rebuild

Thanks for this - looks like I could get them to custom build me drop axles. I will dig in further.

    Trailer Rebuild

Not too many choices. Axles are Dexter and brake lines are Kodak. Everything else is unbranded. For this project, I wish I was in Venice so I could drive to all these sellers in an hour and check it out - but we don’t have anything like Eastern or Sturdy in the PNW.

    Trailer Rebuild

Glacier - I have all that gear and a plasma - but I think a cutting disc will make quick work of the 4 ubolts that hold the whole assembly to the frame. Seasick - frame is solid and I ran a bore scope through it to check. Hubs are the same pattern - bearings may not be correct size (but I think...

    Trailer Rebuild

Hi All - Hope this is the right sub-forum for this - I have a 2001 Adventurer 208 hardtop. It sits on a Shorland'r roller trailer. The trailer has a bent axle and the springs are toast. The axle is no longer available as Shorland'r is no longer supporting older trailers. Eastern Marine lists...

One for the Yamaha 4 Stroke/Fuel System Gurus

I have had this problem and in the end removed the anti-siphon valve. To get the filter full, I use a vacuum pump to get it full and fuel to the bulbs..
