    Deck mat

I have a budy who puts mats in his Grady deck and he is very meticulous about his bouat. No issues at all. He uses the rubber backed flor mats with carpet on the top. Good for the feet and back. I think he gets them from a commercial supply store and I will check when he gets them and get...

Real world fuel burn for a Marlin with 4 Strokes??

One important factor you may want to add to your questions is: Prop size. I have a 28 Marli1990 with 2Strokes and changing to 15.25 x 17 from 19's really made a differnce.

The engines are 250's, mounted on the second hole form the top (yamaha recommended) WOT is on the Harbor, still tide, clean bottom but painted and perhaps could use some stripping but I did sand and fill any dings / gouges in the bottom this past spring. Finally, tests were done with motors...

    Cleaning Gradys..

Takes us about an hour to an hour and a half from the time we pull in the slip with a full crew of six guys with one cleaning the fish. Since most of our trips are offshore, we do get some spray which needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. Never did get to wax the top side this year though...

    Engine Trouble - symptoms familiar?

Follow up to the RPM issues I was having and posted in response to the original post. Problem on my end was solved when I replaced the ECU this weekend. Apparently the ECU was going bad for a while without notice due to the dropping of RPM in the hight end range which I typically do not push...

    Engine Trouble - symptoms familiar?

If you have not resolved this yet, try switching the ECU's it is not difficult to do or have your mechanic switch them. If the problem follows the ECU, you know what to do next.

Oil reservoir on 1990 250 V6 not filling Head tank reservoir

Fixed the problem! Many thanks to Just-in-time for the troubleshooting info. It turns out it was the filter in the remote tank which I had replaced as one of the first measures. It was clogged. While trouble shooting it, I just did not know the sequence and conditions as to when it calls...

    Engine Trouble - symptoms familiar?

Having a similar issue here. While investigating an 2-stroke oil delivery issue which I can confirm was the small filter in the remote tank, I had swapped the ECU from port to starboard and found the starboard engine was doing the same thing cutting back the RPM's and then kicking in ect. I...

Gallons per hour on 1988 28' Marlin

For a bit ther I was feeling a little sickened thinking I was the only one getting .5 when loaded to my best of .7 MPG at an average speed of 22 to 24 knots @ 4100 RPMs. I have Yami 250's 1990 76deg V6 carbed motors rebuilt power heads in 05 with minimal hrs on them. The previous owner said...

    I hate my generator

not to put a sinking feeling in your pit, but it sounds like the boat may have had water further up the water line than you know about. With so many electrical issues, could it be the boat sank in the slip or something like that. I don't know but is there anything similar to Car-fax for boats...
