    Took the boat out today...

I guess we're spoiled down here in South Florida. We went out last week and caught the first Dolphin of 2010, fresh mahi mahi. It's gonna be a great spring!!!

    Arm rest replacement

I have the 2006 228G and everything else on the boat is holding up well, but the rubber part of the armrests on the chairs is disintegrating. Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call. The boat is a few years old and I don't mind paying for new ones, but it is strange how they just started...

    208 vs 228 vs 232 vs 258

I agree with Bill. I couldn't go the Gulfstream because my F150 wouldn't tow it and it wouldn't fit in my side yard (bigger beam). We chose the Seafarer 228 over the 208 because of the added room and closed-in cockpit (motor is on a bracket). The 208 has the cut-a-way transom and we felt the...

Still glad you "Got the Grady?"

I've had my 2006 228 for just over a year (bought it new in 08 - leftover) and we just love it. We fish near shore in S Fla but are venturing further and further out. My 7 year old son and I sleep on the boat all the time and fish when the sun comes up. We're making memories on this Grady...

    Outriggers for a 228

I have searched the forum and found much great info on outriggers for a 228. I would like to know, however, if anyone has outriggers that mount in the gunwale rod holders. I do not want to drill more holes in my boat. I was told that someone makes an outrigger holder that mounts in the...

    Wax

Is it OK to use those "Magic Erasers" on gel coat. I know they are mildly abrasive but it is the only thing that will take the ash residue out of the non skid. We get wild fires in Fla and the black ash does a number on the non skid.

    228 Model number question...

It's really kinda silly....when you think about it. If it didn't have a bracket, it would be a 226. Is there a 228 without a bracket? Just thinking out loud. The fishing's been slow and I had nothing else to do. lol Vinny 2006 228 "G" 225 Yammie Sunny South Florida

Picked up a little something in Miami...

Congrats!!! Love the lines on a Grady Hull. It didn't take too long to get back in a Grady...

    Where to place shoot-thru-hull transducer

I called Grady regarding where to put a shoot through the hull on a 2006 228 and they said to just use a transom mount ducer on that boat. I really didn't want to drill by transom so I took out the livewell and mounted it in the aft bilge a little up from the bilge pump and a little forward...

Moving fuel tank forward on 226

I don't know if this helps but the scuppers on my 06 228 are always under water. It bothered me so I only use the forward 48 gallon tank. I leave the aft tank empty and the scuppers are higher now. If I only had one tank, I would want it as far forward as I could get it. I wonder what Grady...

    Seafarer Scuppers

My '06 228 has the same issue. I've had it back to Grady because the hoses were dribbling water also. When we anchor and boat camp in the backwater, you can hear water gurgling up and down the deck drain all night. My boat lives on a trailer and gets dried out after every camp out or...

Truck for pulling a 228 Seafarrer

I pull my 06 Seafarer with a 1/2 ton Ford F150 and all is fine. I pulled it from Louisianna where I bought it to S Florida where I live. I was careful to buy a SuperCrew (4-door) which has the extended wheel base which increases towing capacity to 8500 lbs. It also has a towing package...

    09 228 seafarer

I thought the 10 gal tank was full but it wasn't. Mine also sputters for a short time until the line is full of water but it eventually works great once primed. It doesn't sound like a bad pump at all. It just takes a few. 2006 228 06 Yam 225

    Pulling Up Deck / 2002 228 Seafarer

I mounted an airmar shoot thru in the bilge of a 2006 228. You have to take up the livewell and you have plenty of room to work and plenty of surface just inches up from the keel. It works great even at speed. The other day, we hit 750 feet of water and it was working. I also called Grady...
