Both great boats , I have 2006 Marlin w/twin 250's. Yes a heavy boat but moves quite well with that power, top end is 41mph loaded. My buddy has Sailfish just re-powered w/new 250's and that boat is faster. We chose the Marlin for more beam and room in general. you can't go wrong with either one

Yup you have a good point there. It makes good sense to update the transducer also. Yes Bob I almost pulled trigger for the 942 xs plus. Thats a nice unit also, you will enjoy.

I also have been following to upgrade my older 740s. Pricing seems good for what it offers.Garmin has a good support system in place. One thing i need to find out is if current transducer will be comatable. It sure would be nice to flush mount.

I have same issue with my 2000 Voyager. Had area caulked pretty heavily , first freeze came now fiberglass protruding past bang plate. I guess is time to get looked at. Any one have recommendations for a transom repair guy here in CT. Transom feels & sounds solid, no flexing when I stand on...
