Changing Oil and filter probably for the first time on this Genny. In South FL oiltype is clear 10-40 Diesel ie CC but what is the volume it takes. Could not find anything in the manuals except Kubota engine either 2L or 2.5L depending on depth of oil pan. But they have a caveat for marine gen use and Panda mentions nothing.
Also type of oil filter cartridge or can is not mentioned anywhere. So will check for that on boat but if someone would have that info handy I would appreciate it.

If its like my FP 4200, it may have an oil strainer instead of a classic oil filter. You could always check with your local grady dealer. If your generator has an oil filter, they may even stock it.

It does have what looks like an automotive filter can and I got the numbers off it HH150-32430, so will look it up.
of course it is on the back side so hard to get to and also Oil fill is half covered by cockpit deck so funne is required with risk for oil spills at every juncture.

Ordered on Amazon. Kubota filter, same price as Walmart.

I had good luck contacting FP directly via there contact info in the manual or online. They were friendly, knew what parts were required and got them to me fast. Even gave me a tip on the starter bolts (to mark them as one is shorter and if a long one goes in that spot, you will have bigger problems).

Ok got the supplies now to change it and not flood the bilge with old black used diesel lubricant/oil. Don't know volume but will measure 2L , 2.2Q to start and measure. Will see how much I get out first including filter volume. 71.4 hours only on gen so pretty fresh.

How much oil did it take? What year is your your Fischer Panda?

2019 vintage, I put in as much as I got out. I estimated it to be about 2L ie 2.2 Qt. It is hard to measure the actual level on the stick now when oil is clean. I determined it was at least enough and after running it for 1/2 hour still hard to see level so I will rely on it being fine for now and check in a while after oil is darkened some.
Reading the Kubota manuals I did see the numbers 2 and 2.5 depending on engine model so that's how I could verify being in the right ballpark.
i did take oil out with the attached hose, not with an extractor. When removing the filter after oil had been dripping til the "end" there was not much oil to worry about messing up the area, also remember to open oil fill and remove dipstick so oil can flow out and air in.

Did you change your inline fuel filter and Water separator as well??? Thanks

No, I did not. I do have them but since last oil change I only the gen a couple of hours maybe as my habit is to exercise all systems ever so often even when there has been no need to use them ex. A/C units or grill or microwave so no need to use genny.
I am actually most concerned about fuel / diesel going bad while it is not used. Now I decided that i will not do partial fills but try to run it down before filling it up. I have not used even one full tank since I got the boat.
Having said that there might be a good reason to replace the filter to keep impurities of old fuel to get through or even to see if it is at all dirty.
I have used additives in the tank to keep it fresh.

I learned the hard way and didn't t run generator every time I was out..Corroded and seized on my 05.33 express .So I run unit routinely!! Headed to Chesapeake Thursday and realized my Gen has almost 300 hrs ..Last oil change was at 50!! Going to buy oil and filter and inline fuel filter , but figured I d do fuel water separator as well but not feeling brave enough to purge air in system!! Glad oil change went OK!! Thanks for your help!!
