I'm open to a Nobel Prize nomination. Behold!

It's a battery slide and works almost as well as scanning your credit card to have someone else change batteries out from this god forsaken bilge! It locks in place and is guaranteed to reduce cursing by 90% + when swapping out batteries.
I'm happy to make these for any other GW 270 owners. It is made from the highest quality pallet board and precisely crafted for long term dependability - think Yamaha. At only $999, it is well worth the investment. :)
In all sincerity, it was well worth the hassle if you do your own battery swaps. I honestly wondered if I'd have the strength to pull this off in a few more years, but this makes it way easier. A rope on the handle and a buddy to help slide the battery up is even better.

You'll laugh but I'm getting old. Get in excavator with a chain, chain around battery handle, hooked to poorly welded chain hook on bucket, lift it out.

Now if only my aging body worked like things work when I work the excavator joy stick

An excavator wouldn't have worked in my case without chopping the back wall of the boat out, but if it gets the job done, bravo. I'm not too proud to use overkill if it makes life easier.
In my case, simplicity seems to be the best solution for the time being.

A buddy to do the whole thing for you is even better better :)
Let your buddy know he needs to be in Northern Ohio at the end of this week.
Had I known it was that easy, I wouldn't have wasted all that time fitting this dumb board!

Let's get some competition going...
