I’m having an auxiliary fuel tank fabricated for my 228. Across the top of the space that the tank will sit in is a PVC conduit that I assume carries wiring.

Does this need to be removed to fit the tank?

Thanks

If you're building it to GW specs/size, then no, it will slide under it. If it's a custom size, you may have to remove/replace. When I replaced my tanks, they were done by Florida Marine Tank, OEM supplier and built to OEM specs so I had no issues with fit.

I am using the Grady White dimensions just slightly narrower so I don't need to enlarge the opening in the deck.
One less thing to do.

Thanks.

I removed the pvc pipe when replacing the tank then reinstalled it with silicon it was pretty easy. The wires in it are for the freshwater washdown pump that you can access from the round plate located under the passenger helm chair.
