I have a 208 adventure, having a problem with salt water wash down pump runs fine then blows the circuit breaker .. Any ideas ? Also tried a new pump and does the same thing . We tried a few things but got to a stand still . Separate wire from battery to pump switch same thing. Ran separate ground from battery to pump same thing … Help lol tried to run a separate power to battery all good . But when turn switch on regular hook up after 8 seconds pops the circuit breaker .. thanks

Have you tried replacing the circuit breaker/fuse for the wash down pump and see if that solves the problem? I'm admittedly no expert in regard to marine electronics, that being said it seems like anytime I've had an issue in my house that it'll start tripping several times back to back, and to where it will continue doing just that until you replace the breaker.

It's a little hard to follow what you've done so far regarding diagnosis, but...

-- Dirty electrical connections can cause this. This could be either the + or -
-- Even old wires can do this
-- Circuit breakers get tired as they get old

Again, not sure what you've done - but that should help guide you

Separate wire from the battery - did you do both the positive and the ground?

For the record mine does the same thing - but I haven't looked at it yet,

Problem solved. The circuit breaker was a old and weak. Change it out with a new one (10.00) and fixed the problem.
