    SeaTow discontinued automated radio checks

are you talking a DSC check or the normal radio check (ch 27 & 28)? i used the latter heavily. ron

    335 vs 325 Freedom

i single handed my 330. i think you'll handle either one once you get used to it. ron

    335 vs 325 Freedom

i don't have either, but there is actually a big difference between the 2 (for one, dry weight is 50% larger). take a look at the GW site and do a compare. i would guess close quarters handling with a thruster would be very similar for the 2. unless conditions were absolutely garbage, i...

    Garmin GPSMAP's w/ internal antennae

thx. basic question is will an internal antennae maintain accuracy under a hardtop, within the piping supports and then within an electronics enclosure down at the helm. vis a vis mobile phone reception near a tower versus some distance away coupled with terrain issues. i'll be running an n2k...

Garmin reactor 40 auto pilot location

same. might want to think about relocating into the locker next to that area. my Autocomp did not experience any interference in there (mounted up at top of compartment). good luck, ron

    Ac/heat

hey, this is interesting. i had the dometic MarineAir system in the 330 so i thought you made a mistake. but this could certainly be confusing. https://www.marinaire.com/Products-s/12.htm https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/rebranded/marine-air

    Converting to hydraulic steering

can't really help. but, is the Optimus electric steering adaptable to your engine? seems the industry is moving to electric. good luck, ron

Garmin reactor 40 auto pilot location

could be in the space behind the instrument panel; under the electronics pod well; or under the electronics pod "deck" (i stuck my gsd22 up under there). also, i put my heading sensor in the locker in the cabin (you have to look up to see it). you should have something in the helm portside...

    Garmin GPSMAP's w/ internal antennae

that's the point. the puck is an add-on now. in everwhom's installation, is the signal picked up by the radio box unit or the dash unit (think wifi in your home)? like i said, i'll just run the n2k backbone up to the radio box and see if i need to put in the hardtop puck. thx all, ron

talking about gps fix, not depth. thx, ron

    Garmin GPSMAP's w/ internal antennae

channel markers. sand bars. etc, etc. the radio will have an internal receiver and i will be well ok with a 100 foot error for a DSC emergency, not so much for navigation. thx, ron

    Garmin GPSMAP's w/ internal antennae

thx. if the internal is close to 100% then no need to spend the extra hundred gallons of gas (my conversion benchmark) and drill holes. if i don't get real life feedback before install, i'll probably just run an N2K backbone up to the radio box and see how the internal functions. that would...

    Garmin GPSMAP's w/ internal antennae

thx. new boat, new setup. going into the helm station. radio will go into the radio box.

    Garmin GPSMAP's w/ internal antennae

i'll be outfitting electronics in the spring. i was wondering how the newer GPSMAPs (Garmin only) with internal receivers operate under a hardtop and within a helm area electronics enclosure (going into a Marlin). are they sensitive enough to get the 9 foot fix range? (my old one with a 19X...
