    Towing Question

I think your well over the limits on a 150. That's not to say you couldn't do it, but why risk it. If it were me, I'd rent a 250 or bigger. Ball size is 2 5/16.

    Ducer height question

The bottom, (not the top) of the transducer should be approximately 1/8" to 1/4" below the hulls running surface. I know that's kind of hard to do with a v-hull, but use the center of the ducer as a reference.

Adventure 208 Vee-Berth Drain -- Where does it drain?

There should be 2 drains/tubes in the bilge area. They exit the rear most bulk head. One is from the forward cabin and one from the fuel tank compartments. Any water from the cabin should drain through that tube to the bilge. If not, more than likely, that drain tube is clogged. If that's the...

    Best Bilge Pump Brand/Maker

I second that... Rule. I wouldn't use anything smaller than 1500 gph, even on a small runabout. I like this model - Rulemate, RM 2000. Fully automatic, (built in float switch) has manual connection too. http://www.rule-industries.com/products ... /index.htm Scroll down, 2nd from bottom...

    204c hull bottom contruction

No coring... straight fiberglass. You'll be fine with a shoot thru. I know a lot of people don't like transom mount ducers, (cosmetically, drilling holes in transom, vulnerable to bottoming out and growth, etc) and I understand that, but.. as long as the transom mount is positioned correctly...

    Attaching a swim ladder

They're usually mounted on the port side, but it really dosen't matter, it can be on either side. There are 2 styles - outboard and i/o, (see links below). The outboard model has one upper brace and the i/o model as 2. If you have a notched transom, you might have to use an outboard...

Installing a low profile thru hull transducer

The fiberglass cloth is only used for cored hulls, where another material, like balsa, is sandwiched between layers of fiberglass. Your Grady is straight fiberglass, so you don't have to worry about that. Any clear area in your bilge, a few inch's off center should be fine.

    1981 GW 204-C Overnighter/Purchase?

Agree with CJ, and... the deck. Check everywhere on the deck, especially around any inspection plates. Just walk around and check for weak spots. If I'm not mistaken, those early 80's models had some kind of floor covering, up around the helm area, that was different from the cockpit area. I...

    made a mistake:water in Fuel

If it hasn't been mentioned before, there's a fairly simple way to drain off some fuel. Your existing fuel line draws from near the bottom of the tank anyway, so why not use it. Disconnect your primer bulb, attach a hose long enough to exit your scarboard, (drain plug) hole. Place a 5 gallon...

    Raw water washdown pump

Try tapping on the motor housing, while applying power. If your wire connections are good and the pump starts, it's probably the pressure switch, (which is often the case) and not the pump motor. They either stick, or fail "open". I've seen them crack too, (don't know why). Even if it doesn't...

Re: By the way... The older brackets were longer. I measured one and it's 6 inch's long. The newer one's are considerably shorter. I'm 99% sure that yours is the same as my old one, (HC-5340-42). Even if it wasn't the same exact model, the support brackets were all the same, (part #...

    Sonar Transducer

It should be tight. Lowrance ducers have a bolt that runs through the bracket and the mounting area of the ducer. Depending on how old it is... some have rubber friction washers, (spacers) and some have detents, or teeth built in that hold it in position. In either case, it should be tight...

    Hydraulic steering

By the way... Again, I don't know exactly what model cylinder you have, but... I replaced an HC-5340-42 with an HC-5345 last year. This was on a 2002 Yamaha 200 HPDI. I still have the original end brackets and support rod. They are in excellent condition. So if you end up bashing the pi$$ out...

    Hydraulic steering

Yes... you got it... heat and a hammer. Concentrate the heat on the aluminum bracket, near the support tube. Obviousely be careful, so as not to damage the aluminum brackets with a hammer, (I know... not very easy, lol). A brass, (or some softer metal) hammer might be the ticket. If you can...
