Trailer for 1997 GW Sailfish 272

Don't forget the pulpit sticking out forward of the bow eye. Need to stay clear of the vehicle especially taller SUV or van.

    Fixing / Replacing Accessory Switches

Check voltage on both sides of the switch, between each terminal and a negative or ground. If both sides are hot when sw is on, check again at the load connections, while sw is on. If full voltage present, it's not the sw. As far as the light goes, I have a few out but sw works fine.

    excess fuel removal

Presuming the boat is out of the water, you can remove the fuel line from the engine side of the squeeze primer bulb, add a length of hose to it down to a fuel container on the ground. You can route thru the open drain plug on the hull, use the primer to set up a siphon action. Not all the...

20 foot owners - trim tabs??

My '88 204C never came with the tabs OEM. The stern would sink for a while till she picked up speed, good thing she had a V6 150 2 stroke, used all of it getting her stern out of the hole more so when loaded up. Needed tabs too for off planning speed when water was just too tough that day...

    Canyon range of Grady Marlin

Montauk refueling is easy, several choices for fuel just inside harbor entrance. Deep water across sound and inside.

    Canyon range of Grady Marlin

Fall run out of RI to the Canyons ! Plan to expect any weather (seas) on the way home, even if you cut and run early. How many hours is it going to take at what speed over ground in such conditions, if it turns, from any direction inclusive of north, or east. Will you be able to keep the...

    208 Adventure hydraulic lines

You can measure it, sold by 1 ft increments. Remember you have to rise from the rigging tubes up and across to the wheel, same at motor less rise though. Grady OEM may have used copper lines, as in my 252G. Not sure on 20 footer. On my 204C (similar to the Adventure?), It came with a Big T...

Prop cavitating - GW Tournament 19

A buddy had a 19 ft Grady with an old carb Yami 225 on it. Except for being a gas pig. it sure was that, it could move. You are not cavitating.

    Single Engine 25' Sailfish????

Gpappy, depending on the waters and wind you fish in, you will be wasting your time trying to troll with a kicker. Boat is going to be blown off course and all around, plenty of arm work for whoever is in the wheel house! By the way for many years Grady equipped the Marlin with the Yami 250...

    Single Engine 25' Sailfish????

Hi Brian, it's been some time. And to others. The modified V Parker, ironically, side by side to my 252G is identical in length tip of pulpit to rear most of engine down. At least from eyeballing it. And the Parker is a very heavy construction, the pilot house has to be about an inch thick...

REPOWER: Time for new outboards???? Need advice

Price up the new Yami F200 4 stroke 4 cyl twins, vs. the 200 HPDis. The old F200 is a V6 motor ( ie HEAVY). Get back to us. If you want a 4 stroke Yami, the new F200 is about the same weight as the 200 HPDI. Still losing 50 HP. If you want 2 stoke, ETEC has some nice motors. After you get...

2002 Grady 282 Sailfish shore power inlet

The cable is connected to it I'd say. The cable runs from there to the AC panel in the cabin, main breaker, and ground. Follow the routing from the panel - to find some slack. If it was cut too short replace it with a longer cable, if that's what you find. The usual precautions apply working...

Brand New Fuel tank, but smell fuel in cabin

Look at the bilge water at the stern, is there a rainbow on the water? Where is the fill deck fitting and vent on that model ? When you filled the tank, did any liquid push back up the fill or out the vent down to the water over the side? I'm sure you wrote with the new tank all new hoses...

    Single Engine 25' Sailfish????

Between the two choices I'd go with the Verado. You will need a bracket wide against the transom, and perhaps with a flange for a future kicker, just in case. I like the Parker single brackets that have the feature for adding a kicker. My buddys Parker pilot 25 had a singe 225 Yami 4 stroke as...

How to run engine in a bucket?

Onoahimahi, Watched the video. Nice work. See you received the usual THT treatment. Wild West shootout over there. OK Corral. For added effect show yourself as a Grady owner. You can be my neighbor any time ! What else is going on but deadhead TV anyway (at any hour). I'd crank up the...

Do I have Yamaha Corrosion? See 5 Photos...

Try also google; tag it "Yamaha class action lawsuit". First 6 hits or so. Don't bother with the THT hits. Even for members who have already paid on repaired wrecked F V6 motors, suggest contacting the firms involved. Can it hurt ? Any year, and for even the parts replacement prior to...

Do I have Yamaha Corrosion? See 5 Photos...

Have any of the more senior members read the class action case against Yamaha, specific to the V6 Fs ? Only read on the F150 was the balance shaft failures. It's been some time but what's the status with class action ? Still active? Basis looked good to me.

Blank Grady Instrument Panel, 1993 time frame

Figured you had fake (quasi teak) wood grain, since fake wood or fake wood grain came into existence when people became too lazy to have teak anymore, as the Gradys all had and other boats too. Nothing at all could ever match it when clean and oiled up. Nothing ever could beat mother nature at...
