    Black mold? Would this choice be prone to mold, I did not consider that. Ty. I could seal it as well but that would not have been my first choice.

    What do you guys think of the idea to use cork in these spots. There were several choices but i bought a box of the stuff that looks like rod handle pattern or?

    Yes the hopes with the first step was to saturate the wood to begin with. Fingers crossed! Btw is everyone aware of how well simple vinegar cuts epoxy resins or did I discover something. Much cheaper then acetone for clean up.

    So if I understood it correctly the WM special clear has a little so that is why I am top coating with varnish which has the uv protection. Hopefully with proper maintenance and uv inhibitors we can keep it looking decent for a while.

    to be honest I do not know but given the effort I put into it I sure hope it lasts long enough for me not to have to do it again. let my son worry about that :)

    Epoxy. I start with total boat penetrating epoxy 2 coats light sanding between then follow up with west marine 105/207 mix coats sanded till smooth then finish with a coat of Epifanes clear varnish. New bow pulpit will be ready for procedure soon.

    its a '87, small platform. Had the single springfield bracket on it originally but I had a 84"x 30" single full platform built for it

    thank you very much. I know it is all probably unnecessary but when its all said and done it will be really nice and the kids will have it as long as they want. most of all its a way to keep myself occupied as I get bored quickly. this way I always have something on the list.

    Waiting for warmth again but still getting stuff done. Bow pulpit, new wood trim pcs and new cabin doors. Also picked up cork panels to use on the side panels at port and starbrd helm seats.

    6,000 is a price I got from a shop in Miami that works on a lot of grady's. the owner himself had a redone 23 footer that he closed in the transom and added a bracket. I will be inspecting mine from the inside before cutting off the glass on the transom. i already can see the supports in the...

    2004 Gulfstream port-aft window leak

    I sent mine out for restoration, Boat glass specialties. Wasn't cheap but very pleased with the outcome. Butyl tape around opening before resetting the windows, they should remain leak free for a long time. that said you cold probably get what you need from them as well. Speak to Tex.
