    Curtesy Light

no...that one requires a big hole and its all metal. Its not what you want. Perko had one similar to original but itss not LED (I think original was Perko) It was crazy expensive for no good reason. Switches and rubber boots are available to fix what you have...unless you cracked the...

You should get the unit up and going on the newest software update. There were a lot of updates in 3 years. You need an Active Captain card and you have to setup both the connection to your home wifi to get updates onto the phone and the garmin wifi on your mfd to get the updates off your phone...

Converting from Hydraulic Steering to Fly By Wire

There is Optimus for Outboards out there. not sure a 30+ yo 22ft boat is a reasonable candidate for that upgrade. I have not heard of anyone on this site do that upgrade. Have you done the troubleshooting steps with your steering? Might be an "easy" fix. How old is the motor? It could be...

    New Overnighter, new transom

I ran it for a few years and sold it to move up to my Grady 265. That stuff is solid. The only issue was where I tried to get away with not glassing over the outside of cuts in the motorwell. I glassed the inside and just faired the outside. Really need a layer of glass to prevent eventually...

    New Overnighter, new transom

Here are youtube vids I made when I used Carboncore(aka Arjay) to pour a transom. My V20 was complicated by the shape of the transom. It was not flat across. I opted to remove the INNER skin. Gradys are flat. outer skin is the way to go. On my V20, the stringers surprised me as the core flowed...

    1998 208 Fuel Tank

That is were it would be but you can't tell by looking at it whether its antisiphon or just a hose barb. If you remove it and you can't see thru it, it is an antisiphon hose barb

Garmin does confuse things with their Map subscriptions. They confuse things also because they have so many sites....Garmin.com, activecaptain.garmin.com, explore.garmin.com You probably had a built-in Map and that might be also asking you to renew/update...even though you bought an upgraded...

    265 express electronics installation

Port side switch had memory (red/pink) on 1 and Fwd Float (brown/red) swicth on 2. Both had blade fuseholders. Disconnect the memory power. You don't need a stereo running down your battery when you forget to turn it off. I don't "think" stereos need memory pwr anymore anyways. Just power your...

    Extra Bolster Fabric?

In case it isn't clear to anyone the reason you need to buy "excess". The pattern of the "channeled" vinyl is vertical on the finished coaming. The coaming needs approx 8" of fabric to wrap around..with the pattern vertical. Wrapping three pieces of the coaming will total 24" (2 gunnels and the...

    265 express electronics installation

Follow the 6 gauge red wire. Its either on the "FEED or sometimes labeled "COM" of the stbd switch or its been moved by the PO. In that case it has to be on one of the stbd battery + posts. From one of those two places it goes to a breaker and then forward to the + terminal block under the dash.

it would be stdb side near the battery switch. A white plastic cover with red button. It would be fed from the stbd switch with 6 gauge red wire. It may have already been replaced with a black switchable breaker.

    Increasing Rod Storage

hehehe you mean like when you have a spread of tuna trolling gear and then you reel it all in to throw poppers and jigs...and then you put the spread out again but now there's pots and your gear is too big for mahi so you switch out some but then you stop on a pot to catch mahi on bait on...

    3 batteries to 2

Hmmm. I see the point about House load. A pair of lead acid DC are not going to run a refrigerator/freezer and AC/Heat and a microwave and a coffee pot. But now you are talking about a boat thats probably big enough to have a generator. ( or you SHOULD be on a boat big enough to need a...

    3 batteries to 2

tell me again what the advantage of LiFePO is for a typical twins start/house setup? weight-OK I give you that. not terribly relevant to a +25' boat. Seems like a lot of trouble for nothing. If you were able to reduce it to a single battery then yes that would be worth it. Or maybe a single...

    3 batteries to 2

The alternator produces a max of 44A per spec of my DF200APs. That is the total available. The state of the batteries determines which are drawing the current. If they are fully charged they draw (practically) nothing. After you start the motor, the starting battery will draw until charged...

    Zipwakes and SeaKeeper Ride experience?

265 has pockets for tabs. Tab actuators are special short ones. Last I looked the Bennett Auto/Indicator tab kit would not work on the short actuators Are Seakeeper going to work there or do you have to fill the tab pockets? IMO Can't justify $4500 for seakeeper tabs on an old 265. Rides...
