    Bow Anchor control switches

These are all over the place - just Google for windlass foot switches. Something seems off, though - any boat dealer will know how readily available these are - and if that was a GW original install, then they would have the GW part number. Was this NOT an original GW install? Truth be told...

    Trailer Needed for Adventure 208

Adjustable trailers (non-fixed bunk supports) are more common than a full custom trailer.

    Trailer Needed for Adventure 208

Yes. For someone that has done this before, it's less than a 2-hour job. Certainly not expensive. For someone doing it themselves, that has never done it, it would just take a little longer.

    Anchor size for a 306 Bimini/Canyon

If it's 20', that's still pretty decent. 30' even better. Still can't go wrong with more, though! But 20' is good. Keep in mind that the proper scope is more important than the anchor size -- to an extent, anyways... I mean if you threw a 200lb anchor down there... :) The reason I mention...

Yamaha wire bundle won’t go in rigging tube

Run the Yamaha wire bundle from the other end, first?

    Anchor size for a 306 Bimini/Canyon

Bill, if you want to double check before you order to make 100% sure it will fit... look at the specs for the anchor brand/size you are considering and compare that to your existing anchor. Primarily the shank length and the plow length. As noted, adding more chain is always a good idea and...

Suggestions for an outboard motor for a 1978 "Duke 175"

I'm VERY familier with your area... it's my area, too :) It's my second home area - and family has been there for about 100 years. I'm in Friendship (on an island) and Cushing. To your point about some high end local builders... um, yeah, don't even step foot in Lyman-Morse :) Wonderful...

    Really cold storage?

Electronics... nothing to worry about. Again, go back to the reality of thousands and thousands of boats are like this with no issues. I get WHY you are wondering - but it really is a non-issue. Think of ALL the boats that have built-in electronics that never get removed. Same with the...

Suggestions for an outboard motor for a 1978 "Duke 175"

Where 'bouts in Maine? Grady won't be able to tell you aything different than what you've already found regarding the 125HP. There not going to state anything that could come back and bite them. CYA stuff, you know? The first thing to focus on is the integrity of the boat - transom, floor...

    Really cold storage?

Thousands and thousands and thousands of boats get stored like this in much colder climates than yours. If the systems were properly winterized, you're good. Being on a lift doesn't affect the boat... unless the the ice damages the lift :)

    Grady 228G bump rail replacement

As far as replacement goes, a rubrail is a rubrail is a rubrail. They might look different but they all basically attach the same way and it's quite simple. Remove the center piece - which may be rope or a vinyl insert - that will expose the screws. Remove screws and peel the blue piece off...

1997 vintage 16-903 panel switch needed - where to find?

Regardless of what style of switch you have they are actually quite easy to find - most likely, your local marine stores has them. Take a picture of the backside of the switch or take the switch with you. They're inexpensive, too.

1994 228G broken engine mount bolts in alum

Nah - it's big - but it's just a thing. Things can be removed. The hardest thing is likely how much/what kind of sealant is between the bracket and hull - but even that has relatively easy solutions. Stories are likely from those that have limited experience in this or don't ask (the right)...

2005 Bimini 306 trim tab spray

Well, truthfully, none of the response are truly just "guesses" since the issue you described CAN be caused by all of the reasons mentioned. As you added more info, that helps to narrow down the possibilities, though. In other words, spraying is caused by a disturbance in water flow - what...

1994 228G broken engine mount bolts in alum

OK, I guess to each his own. It's just such an easy job to remove the bracket and get the entire thing done properly that it just makes sense (to me, anyways). Without doing that I'd be worried about the edge that touches the transom not being prepped properly and the paint would eventually...

2005 Bimini 306 trim tab spray

I was kinda curious about that. It COULD be that the other one is off by enough that it's trying to push/list the boat over (lean over) and it's causing the flatter one to dig in to the water more than usual. For starters, disconnect the strut from the tab mount and move the tabs manually...

1994 228G broken engine mount bolts in alum

But... you would be taking it off to sandblast and paint, right? I mean, that would be the proper way. It's just a few bolts and nuts - pretty easy.

2005 Bimini 306 trim tab spray

Hmmm. Strange. Were you able to compare to the other side to see if something "looks" out of place? Like maybe the tab is slightly bent and extends out of the pocket just slightly? Since you replace the struts, I assume the hinge end was checked? Do both tabs extend and retract the same...

1994 228G broken engine mount bolts in alum

There are ways to avoid that happening... but once in a great while it still happens. Since you can remove the bracket, let gravity help you as a starting point by turning the bracket upright. Get some phosphoric acid or cleaning vinegar - both can be gotten from HD and will eat salt. The...
