    2000 Grady White 208 Adventure Hardtop - $26,000

They better give you a good warranty. ;) I’ve got a Suzuki now and rebuilding it isn’t an option. Merc, OMC, and Yamaha, all rebuilable. Not my DT 2 stroke Suzuki. Suzuki connecting rods are pressed onto the crankshaft so if you have a rod failure or crank issue you can’t turn the crank. It has...

    2000 Grady White 208 Adventure Hardtop - $26,000

I was curious about that. The 250 showing a higher rate is what we’re more used to seeing with a bigger engine. Yes the F200 is the one to have. I know there are those who prefer other brands but the F200 with a 19p prop on a 20’ Grady has proven to be a successful match. It’s what I plan to go...

    2000 Grady White 208 Adventure Hardtop - $26,000

Top speeds seem a little optimistic but the fuel economy being better for the bigger engine doesn’t surprise me and it’s telling. You’d think the smaller engine would be better on fuel but the fact that it has lower efficiency says it’s struggling. You can interpret that as being underpowered.

    2000 Grady White 208 Adventure Hardtop - $26,000

I’ll add this is why you buy a bigger engine for a higher cruising speed not wot. Wot is for the go fast guys not a fishing boat. But a larger engine will maintain a higher cruise without beating itself up. If you had that 150 you probably find yourself pretty near wot most of the time just...

    Trailer Slides

Don’t have to imagine, ;) Happened to my aluminum boat this past summer. Took the boat out a week before vacation for a shake down run. Loading it it seemed odd. Once home I discovered the two back bunks had broken free. Fortunately nothing bad happened to the boat. Could have repaired it for...

    2000 Grady White 208 Adventure Hardtop - $26,000

Needs more engine but I’m seriously liking the hardtop and enclosure . I have a 225 on mine. It tops out in the mid 40’s but where this boat would be topping out at like 35 mine is just loping along at like 3,800 rpm. Getting along fine at that speed without beating up the engine. Not a fan of...

Adventure 208 - Adding fishing rod grommets in cabin

Just how much additional storage length did you gain doing this?

    Trailer Slides

There’s another reason I left rollers. Had one pop off and loaded before I saw it. Left a nice gouge in the gel coat. Never had that happen with a bunk trailer I had before.

    Trailer Slides

Thought about it but one reason I made the switch from roller to bunks is for the boat to stay put once I snugged it up on the trailer instead of having it sliding back when loading. Found that to be a pain when I was doing things solo, even when not. Now I snug it up, climb off without worry...

Missing parts for Adventure 20 (208)

You’d be surprised. I doubt we’d ever do an “overnighter” on ours but I expected my wife and daughter to take advantage of it to take a nap and they have plenty of times. I mounted a small oscillating fan in the cabin for the warmer days which has been a welcome addition.

    Simrad Go9 eval

Using the phone as a remote seems silly on a 20’ boat. It’s like car stereos that come with a remote when the stereo is an arms reach away. I do like how it’s supposed to display incoming text messages on the screen. Haven’t tried that feature yet but I’m deaf to my phone most days and forget it...

Missing parts for Adventure 20 (208)

I have a 204C and the two center cushions incorporate the boards. There’s a drop board right in front of the Porta potty that supports the front cushion and must be used . We went without and broke the cushion board on a bump. I just replaced its board which was a simple matter of carefully...

On the iPhone I bought a radio holster from west marine. It’s a white flexible plastic and I mounted it just inside the cabin out of any spray but within reach from the helm. My phone or iPod sits in there and is either plugged into the Kenwood stereo or the a/c port in the cabin. Turning your...

1989 204c overnighter cuddy cabin drain

This makes perfect sense as when stored at home I crank my trailer jack all the up in its body before disconnecting it from the hitch then block it as close to the jack’s base as I can. I then jack it up off the hitch and get that nose up high. I usually get some additional amount of water out...

1989 204c overnighter cuddy cabin drain

That’s way too low to drain overboard. That drains into the bilge. I’d first verify you have no fuel or vapors leaking into the bilge area and with that done I’d put a strong shop vac hose to it to see if it pulls the probable clog back up. If that doesn’t do it a drain snake carefully run down...

Stock gunnel rod holder replacement for modern 228?

A quick check on eBay showed a number of original Grady rod holders but there’s a premium attached to the name. I wouldn’t be surprised to find Taylor made makes them for Grady. window pulls are and if buy a Taylor made pull its $10, if you buy them with the grady part number attached their $40...

Here are a couple pics of my transducer placement. I mounted the unit so it hung slightly below the hull and putting it in line with the chine to keep it in cleaner water. As I said I wasn’t sure if the lower unit would block the port side sidescan signal but it’s good.
