    Vent windows

That's the one I used with my Overnighter but I had to re-drill a new hole to make the bracket work. It was a fraction of the price of the Grady replacement and works perfectly.

    Helm badge

Spent a few hours on the boat repairing and improving little things that bugged me. I did promise to get back to you with this info so here is what I've had made up... My helm badge had definitely seen some better days. (lower left) I had these made up and the plan was to repaint the blue...

    Helm badge

I had a couple made up as decals for my Overnighter which came out very good. I’ll post pics tomorrow and where I got them from. They did a few things for me. The capacity plate, the decal on the back of the throttle control too and they really nailed it for those. I gave them size dimensions...

    Bilge pump indicator lamp

And that pretty much covers what I’ve got with these. There are 2 grades at west marine and these are the cheaper of the 2. I know I put the pricey ones doubled up on the fuel lines at least.

    Finally! Took delivery today

That was my thoughts. Take it out on the slop and you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised how it handles it.

    Bilge pump indicator lamp

I appreciate the input guys, lots of good stuff. I see that a lot of pics show that corrugated hose used. I don’t have much faith in that type of line. I know my pic shows it In mine too but I’ve since replaced it with clear webbing re-enforced pressure hose. That corrugated stuff can develop...

    Bilge pump indicator lamp

Sounds great but in an effort to curb my OCD and to keep it simple found an Attwood S750 pump new on eBay for half the price westmarine wants. It uses the same housing and hose the S500 uses so after I wire it up I don’t have to unbolt the S500’s basket housing. That’s a big plus because the...

    Bilge pump indicator lamp

If the pump has an external float providing power to the pump it could provide power to a lamp as well. An internal switch would be difficult to swing that with.

    Bilge pump indicator lamp

Yes I just finished working it. I’m a little more than embarrassed to say the third automatic wire “was” hooked up and was the way I would do it because I did do it some 6-1/2 years ago. Christ I’m getting old :( I didn’t remember doing but I’ve done sooooo much on this boat. Anyway I...

    Bilge pump indicator lamp

This is the pump that the boat came with when I brought it home but its not the fctory installed pump. I was able to clean it up and strip the wires back to make secure dry connections. The pump is an Attwood S500gph model which is smaller than the factory pump which I believe was 800gph. My...

    Bilge pump indicator lamp

The last year and a half have really been tough to get out on the boat but this fall I hope to get more regular use like I used to. One of my local marinas has offered special of $50 for 3 days use of a slip which I’d like to take advantage of. If I’m gonna slip my boat I’ve got to upgrade my...

You Can Call Me Captain Beefheart

Glad to see you made it thru that. I didn’t even know they could do that. Bet you wish you didn’t need to know that either. You get older and you end up learning about all sorts of medical procedures you wish you wouldn’t. I know far more about pancreatitis than I care too. It brought me right...

    Adding new cleats

:D Yup ! I really don’t think this is much different from what they use. Lol. I have used mine to check out a busted tooth crown though. for my tractors I’ve checked the piston walls and condition of the valves.

    Adding new cleats

Thank you. It’s always my goal in whatever I do to make it look like the factory could have done it. It’s going to prove useful. One thing I want to do now is learn how to cut and lace an end loop in a dock line to hang the fender at the desired height.

    Adding new cleats

Here you go, I got the 10’ model but 3’ will probably handle most of what you want. If your curious you can also pull your spark plugs to see the condition of your engines cylinders...

    Adding new cleats

I'm a little delayed in posting pics but this is the finished cleat project. There were two things that kept this project from taking 10x longer than it did and without endless pain and frustration, thats this inspection camera and my neighbors 12 year old son. His arms could reach in the tight...

    Horn replacement location

After Hurricane Sandy we had a huge storage area on the other side of our town with probably more than a thousand insurance totaled boats. That was in 2012. I lost my Bayliner in that storm and got my Grady a year later. My Grady is probably a Sandy boat to some degree because there is a repair...
