    New Style Deck Drain Info

Does anyone have pictures of how they look when installed? I’m curious, they look sharp in the ad. I’m sure I still have the originals on my Seafarer, thanks.

    Engine Cowling Decal Removal Woes

It amazes me that the manufacturers make these so difficult to remove, I tried to remove a warning label on the top of the cowling of my Suzuki but gave up in fear of removing paint in the process. Yet the body side mouldings on my Chev Silverado are falling off again.

    Yamaha F250 vs. Honda BF250?

Well good question, the Seafarer I bought in December 2019 was from an insurance auction in Vancouver BC from the previous owner hitting something and tearing the outboard from the pod. The upper horns from the factory pod were toast so my son in law fabricated a bracket to bolt onto the top and...

    Yamaha F250 vs. Honda BF250?

I’ve got a 30 inch Suzuki DF250 on my Seafarer, been running it for 3 years, just crazy amount of torque. I had Yamahas for over 20 years but made the switch to Suzuki, so far very impressed.

96 - 208 Soft spot over gas tank

Well I have a dumb question as I know very little about fibreglass other than small repairs on my very small hand made lake boat. Why put any plywood in the tank lid at all? Why not just layer in lots of fibreglass glass and resin to make the thickness needed and forget the plywood altogether...

Looking for a Seafarer 1997 or newer

Just remember to check the year of the outboard as that motor may have the exhaust issues even with the low hours. I believe the 2002 - 2005 Yamahas had the lack of anti-corrosion in the exhaust leading to potential issues. You may include that as a condition to inspect in an offer you make to...

Looking for a Seafarer 1997 or newer

Wow interesting that you‘re in the State where Grady White’s are built, hopefully you find a local boat. I was cut polishing and waxing my Seafarer last summer and I noticed the old ghosted NC registration numbers on my new to me GW, I’m on the west coast on Vancouver Island. These boats are...

1998 Grady White 228 live well

Yes quite impressive, I wish I still had the pictures of what the bilge look liked like when I first bought my Seafarer. Rusty, oily scum in the bottom 6 inches of the bilge. I was hanging upside down scrubbing it with bartender’s friend and Mr Clean scrubbers for hours but it did eventually...

One for the Yamaha 4 Stroke/Fuel System Gurus

I have Suzuki’s now but ran Yamaha‘s for over 20 years, I always fill the new fuel/water separator filter and clear bowl with fresh fuel before I install it back on the plate/bracket. That way I can check for leaks right away.

It’s official… we’ve got some blood on the deck!

Here’s the picture off the outer Bajo Reef whistle buoy off Nootka Sound taken last summer

It’s official… we’ve got some blood on the deck!

As Doug228 mentioned most people drive to the mouth of the Gold River on pavement to launch their boats and then run for 40 minutes at 31 mph due west out Muchalat Inlet to Nootka Sound. We stay at a float cabin in 3 bay cove just behind camel rock. The Sound is a great place to fish in itself...

So the 208 and 228 go away for the new 218

Hi Steve, I just use common sense and run during the slack tide when out in those tricky areas north of Campbell River like Seymour Narrows where it seems like half of the Pacific Ocean funnels through a 400 yard space. Most of the east coast of Vancouver Island south of Campbell River is fairly...

It’s official… we’ve got some blood on the deck!

Their arrival in Nootka may be perfect timing for the arrival of the famous Conuma River chinook run. The springs were very spotty for us on the inside last week, I hope they do well. There are lots of WN registered boats in Nootka waters over the summer.

So the 208 and 228 go away for the new 218

Time will tell regarding this new 218 design but a little voice keeps reminding me that even smart people can make bad decisions in regards to dropping the 208, 226 and 228 models in favour of the 218. My 228 will be passed on to my kids and grand kids so it will be around for a long time.

It’s official… we’ve got some blood on the deck!

Hey Trapper, it’s great to hear good fishing reports for the local area around the Comox Valley, I haven’t wetted a line locally yet as I‘ve been busy completing and painting the new (boat) shop that I built this year but hopefully the 2 spring limit will kick in August 1st

It’s official… we’ve got some blood on the deck!

Great to hear you have been successful with your Seafarer, we just got back from Nootka Sound with limits of coho and a few springs. We live in a great part of the world where we can catch dinner.

Grady white 228 tackle station build

Awesome use of extra space not normally used for anything, a great idea
