Well this is an interesting thread, I have had my Seafarer for a couple years and always wondered what the tracks were for that run the full length under the hard top. Is the track for some sort of winter/travel cover to protect the canvas?

Yes I’m amazed how long the original fabric has lasted on my boat, I’ve only had the boat for the last 2 1/2 years. I did use the upholstery attachment on our Bissell carpet cleaner and shampooed them about 4 times when I first got the boat to clean them over the winter.

It was a fishing trip about 6 years ago on a 1999 248 Voyager that sold me on the quality of Grady White boats and it started my quest for a Grady. I settled on a 1999 228 Seafarer but the 248 was my first choice if I could have found one, the ride is unbelievable, congratulations.

Those look awesome, I still have the original fabric on my 1999 228 Seafarer for now but they are getting faded..

Gotta love that color

I see it has an after market hardtop, does it come with the full cabin enclosure and drop curtain? If not, then those are about a $5000 extra to make it an all weather boat.

I originally had my Lowrance chart plotter in the glove box of my 228 and then I moved it flush a year ago. My vhf and marine Alpine stereo is about in the overhead compartment.

I have a 1999 Seafarer with a 2012 DF250 and have had nothing but great performance with the DF250, I can’t really comment on the performance of the DF225. Lots of people, fuel and gear doesn’t seem to affect the performance of the outboard, lots of low and mid range power, just great engines...
