What is this and how serious is it?

Does it have any electronics you like? You’d be into it a pile of money before you had everything fixed up the way you want it. Likely ton of rewire, both structural and cosmetic fiberglass / gel coat work. Once you have done all that I’ll be about worth what you would pay right now. That motor...

    33grady Sally Ann sold

Which I assume is more than it cost when you bought it back in the day?

    No top end power

There is a Schrader valve on the fuel injector rail. You need a pressure gauge made for checking fuel pressure, and a hose w/ Schrader adapter. You can buy the whole kit at Harbor freight tool for $19. I did that, and then a month later when the gauge stopped working (shocking!) I bought a nicer...

    Sailfish 272 Head issues

Seems like the macerator needs to be run every so often. Mine was seized this year as well. However, it's pretty quick and easy to pop the cover and break it free. Mine works again just fine after that.

    Sailfish 272 Head issues

I remember the whole kit being about $90. Well worth it if you consider some of the other potential outcomes LOL.

    No top end power

It can be the VST for sure, but OP was clear that they were cleaned and filters replaced. I've been fighting mine (cleaned them again this year anyway), and the top end throttle behavior sounds different. Every time I have had crap in the VST filter, the motor reached a certain RPM and then...

    More prop talk Seafarer 228

I ran the Powertech Offshore 4 blade at 17" pitch (Seafarer 226), and got 56-5800 RPM WOT depending upon load. Night and day better than what I replaced.

2000 Grady 192 for 1st boat in PNW?

I answered your Q on THT as well. Doc Stressor is right about the front cover for when it's cold or choppy.

    ECOS Switch lanyard length

"Fell?" "MOB?" Are they having fun with the product name? 8^)

    No top end power

IIRC 4400 RPM is somewhere near where the neutral switch (cowling not console) kicks in. Might be worth investigating?

Fourstroke repower on 22 seafarer question

225 or 250 4 stroke is perfect for the 226 in my opinion.

    Sacrificial Anode Skeg question.

Maybe he thinks it’s oscillating or something like that. It will indeed be interesting to see what happens when you tighten it up.

Fourstroke repower on 22 seafarer question

I had a 225 SWSII on mine and would have loved 250hp or more. NO WAY would I buy a 150 for that hull...

    repower 1990 28 marlin

Boats may be somewhat different, but I have 1190 lbs of F225 on the back of my 1998 272 and it's just fine. No scupper footwashes at all...

Local Grady White Dealer will not work on my Outboard

Yes, you can but now there are new ones for ~$5-6/cylinder. I have about 65 hours on mine with zero troubles. Related to FI that is. ;) ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174576468854 Yamaha...

    Rpm's

Outboards are made to operate in their entire approved RPM range. Many consider it a best practice to run at WOT for an interval every outing. It used to be necessary to “blow the carbon out” of two-strokes, but I have a feeling that’s less important with the modern powerful engines of today..

2006 282 Sailfish Fresh Water Fill

    Effect of Incorrect Spark Plugs

AFA fuel injectors are concerned, rebuilt Bosch are about $5-6 per cylinder on eBay. I believe that they cost more to send out, but ??

Have you seen the motor? I've heard that there can be delays in procurement right now. 8^)

    Effect of Incorrect Spark Plugs

I've been into my VSTs all the way for the last two years. I replaced the filters last year, and found the new filters clogged again this year, but also that they cleaned right up. These can be cleaned by opening the VST without removing it - a little easier. There is indeed a float that needs...
