    Trim motors for Yamaha 350’s

Wow. That motor is disproportionately corroded. Do you think it’s original?

‘96 272 Sailfish macerator pump location

Definitely submerged. I'm telling you was ready to throw it away, but this one works perfectly now. The shaft had seized, but otherwise it was fine. it may have been replaced at some point, as the bearings don't seem 20 years old...

Ya. Mine wasn’t that kind of dirty. The motor had seized. I don’t know about polarity and direction but I doubt that work work to free it up. Wear gloves. Lol

‘96 272 Sailfish macerator pump location

Rebuilding mine was easy. It had seized, and was very dirty - looked like a throwaway but it actually cleaned right up. There’s a thread with some pictures of that process. I would assume it would be a lot easier to get it spinning again then it would be to re-design. Ymmv...

Inside the under-helm berth under the hatch. In the tank itself.

Rear live bait well on 272

The hard part is probably going to be the plumbing. I’m planning to do that to at some point this off-season.

    Seafarer Waste Pump

As indicated, it's worth taking the old one out, cleaning, and testing. Mine looked like a total throwaway, but worked like a charm after some calcium deposits and mold were removed.

    Trim motors for Yamaha 350’s

Check your zincs? I moor my boat in salt for 4-5 months every year and they do not corrode all that much. We have really bad barnacles, so I always rub them out and bottom paint (the metal friendly kind!!) so maybe that helps.

Grady 208 top speed with new mercury 4 stroke 225 hp

That’s not enough RPMs. Shaft length? Propeller? Is it mounted in the correct set of holes? How far up are you able to trim it? Where is your anti-cavitation plate with regard to the water surface at speed? we can definitely help you but you will need to provide far more information. These...

    First time Grady owner

You may be able to take care of all of those things, what’s your time worth? I just did a full rebuild on one that surveyed very well and it took several hundreds of hours.

Winter storage in NE- full or near empty gas tank??

Variety being the spice of life, I will chime in as the guy that drains the tanks at the end of the season - I run low before de-launching and then pump the rest out into cars, lawnmower, etc., until it's gone. In the spring, I also put a small amount of fuel, a quart or two, into the tanks and...

    Four Stroke Winterize...

I run myself almost out of gas at the end of the season, and then pump out the rest. I live about 10 miles from the ramp, so I don't need much... OK, plan B is evolving. Instead of running them dry, I'll think I'll just run them for a few minutes at 3 months and 6 months with a separate tank of...

    Four Stroke Winterize...

Thanks, Dennis! I agree that fuel stabilizer is a fantastic thing - it allowed me to get lazy regarding a whole lot of small engines without paying for it. So, I probably will run these big girls dry too, but on treated fuel. I drain my boat tanks too - at least in part because I don't want to...

    Four Stroke Winterize...

Good day GW owners! I'm going to winterize my F225s soon, and want a little input - I'm used to 2-strokes and wonder if there are additional or different steps recommended. Some of this is more than just winterizing, but here's what I have planned: Water pump rebuild (motors are new to me this...
