    ISO Upholsterer for New Cushions

Who did you end up going with? I'm in your neck of the woods, there's a few in Edgewater that do this work. Marty's Canvas and Bag Works on 2 is supposed to be great but they are also very pricey.

    TAKING ON water

I have played 'find the leak' many times in my 282. When I first got it i noticed the fwd bilge going every trip. There were actually 3 leaks contributing to that one, the fish box 90 degree drain was cracked and likely had been since day one. It was mashed up against a small stringer and was...

    Windshield Washer Knob Leak

Easy to get to on the 282 too as well, mine worked a little loose from all the vibrating. Easy fix. Can't imagine there is really anything to break inside these, all it does is spin and when it lines up water comes out.

WTB: Sailfish (2005+) or a Chesapeake. I will pay cash! Hurry up before you pay for Winter Sto

Consider Marlin if your looking at a chesapeake as well. I've been on the 290 Chesapeake, there was one at my old marina. I didn't love it, they are expensive for what they are, and there aren't many out there. I have the 282, used to live in HoCo, near Annapolis now. Happy to answer any...

    282 Sailfish Mid-berth Size?

My 10 year old stays in there overnight, no issues. When they were little both my kids slept in there, again no prob. I've slept in there before as have buddies of mine on long trips, it's fine for an adult as well. The bigger issue if you don't have AC is that it is a little steamier in there...

    Post your SeaDek/similar photos!

I used Aquatraction on my 282. Everyone loves it, the only slight annoyance is that it’s a little warmer on those really hot days. No stains or scratches and it was beat on all summer long. Price was around 3k and I did the whole boat. Even the swim platform.

    ???? Sailfish 272 / 282 difference ??

Aside from the obvious cosmetic differences the main change was that the running surface of the hull was extended, but that was changed while it was still the 272. I don't know the year precisely, I think around '98 or so, but do some googling, that info is out there. They changed to the 282...

    2017 Marlin?

I get where your at, I have 2 boats, though I share the bay boat with a neighbor. My 282 gets me out in anything I care to be out in on the Chesapeake. And the bay can blow up in a heartbeat. I was out this past Sunday night slamming fish on the jig and there was only one other boat out, some...

    Source for stripes?

GW Dealer probably won't have the old style, but you can use any, doesn't have to be local, can always call around and have it shipped for a few bucks. My dealer in Deale Md is great, Tri-State. If your sticking with the original scheme they look great from that website, but then again SeanC...

Anyone live in the Baltimore area? Looking at/would love opinions on possibly buying a GW 228 Seafarer.

Congrats on the boat! You never have to twist my arm too hard to go look at a Grady! She looks great and well cared for, hopefully many years of enjoyment and a lot of fish to follow.

    Rub rail end joint

I did the same, they have a version that will work, requires a little negotiating to make it line up right but it's the best fit. I replaced my rail about a month ago as the last one was in horrible condition.

    2005 SF 282 Battery Wiring

Mine is the same, and i do what you do. It saved my butt once in the middle of the chesapeake.

Anyone live in the Baltimore area? Looking at/would love opinions on possibly buying a GW 228 Seafarer.

Also, local Yamaha guy you can try is Ron Oakes, i use him for everything. Oakes Marine Repair, 410-858-3507. He's always very busy, but might be able to squeeze you in if you'd like added piece of mind. I have 1900 hours and spinning on my F225's, so your going to get a lot more than 5-6 years...

Anyone live in the Baltimore area? Looking at/would love opinions on possibly buying a GW 228 Seafarer.

Just seeing this now, I had a '97 228. I'm about 15 min from there, have a 2002 282 now. I use Tri-State for parts, great folks, honest, and they will work with you on pricing if your loyal. My Sailfish originally came from there. So if you'd like a hand or set of eyes send me a pm, I'm clear...

    The Walk Around Cuddy R.I.P.

My daughter is 5, she passes out before we clear the 6 mph zone, something about the boat. It's the only place she naps, never does at home. I can't give up the 282 cabin. That being said I did look at the Coastal Explorer but it was too heavy, ended up buying a Scout 251XS with a neighbor of...

    Owner Work friendly yard?

I'm near Annapolis, Abell Custom Marine let's you work on your own boat. I was there every day for weeks this past offseason. https://www.abellcustommarine.com/ Great people, very reasonable, and if you do get in a bind their work is top notch.

    2001 282 sailfish re power?

I think you'll want at least 225HP 4 strokes. Those HPDI's probably have more low end grunt than a 200 hp 4S. I have a 2002, still with original F225's, they are a fantastic match but i wouldn't want any less. Especially getting up out of the hole. I run the 15 1/4 X 19's.

    Winter Boat Cover?

I have a Fisher, been through 4 Annapolis winters so far and holding up great. Bought it on this site when someone opted to store their boat indoors and no longer needed it, got a sweet deal on an otherwise brand new cover. It's more than paid for itself vs. wrapping, but it's a real bear to...

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

In south florida AC sounds like a must-do, less of an issue in Maryland, but there sure are days where it would be nice. Interesting idea of how your planning to set it up, and I agree, less holes in the boat, the better! Plus, I can't use my overboard discharge in the bay, so i'd have no...

    Sleeping on a Dual Console?

Have you taken a look at the Canyon in that size range? Neither sounds comfortable imo, but doable. If you want the Ritz you'll need an express, in the middle would be a marlin as you can have those cushions up front. I have them on my 282 and they do get used every so often on sandbar days.
